  1. And this is why they rarely send these out. Every phone in the meeting I’m in just went bonkers. Imagine millions of people getting that message. Definitely induces some panic for the general population who doesn’t understand weather.
  2. Well it didn’t take long for me to wrong. I see them now on counties under warnings.
  3. I might have read that they aren’t issued in counties that already have active warnings. Don’t quote me though
  4. Thanks to wolfie I can now post this nice shot of the band looking due North over the lake from my work. She’s a beaut!!
  5. Don't get me wrong, I'm want it to happen but don't feel confident in my location.
  6. Holy crap, I had no idea this was a thing. Every attachment I've ever posted is still in there all the way back to 2011..... lolz
  7. Am I losing my mind. Why are we limited to .24MB upload. I can’t attach anything. It was .86 last night. Wtf is happening?
  8. And as usual I’m in the opposite court. Wayne might do well but I can’t see me getting more than an inch to two. These bands will be so transient. Going to be highly localized though. Some parts of Monroe will literally get a dusting. NE corner might get into something.
  9. They showed lake effect, but did they show a meso low?
  10. Seems unlikely. A meso low is a pretty complex and seemingly random alignment of many small environmental variables combined with adequate lake induced stability. In fact this one is unusual in that they usually occur under much colder conditions. I wouldnt have thought they were possible right now as your delta T's are just barely cold enough for pure lake effect as it is.
  11. Good lord, look at these delta T's over the upper lakes...... 30c!!! (66 degrees F between the lake and 850, its hard to imagine). Looks like a decent amount of low level moisture too. As many have mentioned, the lakes will be angry tomorrow, haha. I love it.
  12. Another thing to note is that its not developing as much as its entering the radar beam. It probably is larger than we realize.
  13. It's a good question. The front arm of the low seems to have strong convergence, but the center should technically have the strongest low level convergence and upward vertical motion. Once it begins to hit the shore it might kind of tighten up and collapse. Either way you are in a nice spot right now
  14. Definitely looks like some spin in there. It’s going to dump in the middle of that. I tried to post a gif from radar scope but got denied. I don't know how I can sometimes do it and not other times.
  15. What a nice little plume that is, almost looks a little like a meso low. That thing could drop couple inches in short order.
  16. I'm from the opposite camp on this one. You could have had any variety of warnings and I think the number of accidents would have been nearly identical. A WWA gives people a heads up; but the people in accidents were probably going to drive regardless of a warning or not.
  17. It looks as if the Niagara frontier might get more snow than the finger lakes as this thing is already winding down and the finger lakes are currently devoid of snowfall. Just that last deformation band is yet to come through. Just under and inch in rochester.
  18. I'm loving the bump north showing up on the 12z runs. The lake Ontario counties may jump into the game on this one after all.
  19. Is the second half of this game going to be snowy?! Certainly looks possible. Im so nervous. Haha
  20. You're not kidding, very heavy banded snow moving through. Might rival the buffalo snow game at times.
  21. This is true. Wasn’t sure if the column could support it late night. Not much synoptic moisture left though.
  22. I think I was being generous. We have maybe a half inch of pure slop and it’s changed back to drizzle and snow grains. An inch would be an achievement. Lol. Maybe some lake enhancement with better ratios late night will give us another inch. I dunno.
  23. Radar certainly isn’t inspiring but ROC should be able to squeak out 2 inches of 6:1. Better than grass and a nice base for subsequent chances this week.
