    Normally I feel like our best snows is when the trough is aligned from a point of about Arkansas/Missouri area and in that general vicinity so yes mid Mississippi valley area into TN valley is the “sweet spot”

    If Euro shows more of a GFS/ICON type look at 12z that ease some fears at all or you’re still worried about trends as we lead up to game time?

    HP parked up in eastern canada has that classic look we all love to see. 1030 isn’t the strongest but it will still help to funnel llc down the appalachians.

    Looks to me the GFS is also speeding things up as well some with LP forming along the gulf coast in western LA.

    I thought the way that 1/7 storm was set up and the location of the LP placed over the ILM area would produce a much better surface map as we got closer. Storm def has my attention as we start to get closer.

    I’ve started to accept we just don’t do snow anymore this side of the country. The GFS could show it being -2 Fahrenheit here for 10 days straight from days 10-20 and I wouldn’t believe it. Even then it would be our luck that it would be so cold everything would be suppressed to Rio De Janeiro

    Unreal.. couldn’t have a better track. Gets kinda hard to remain positive with the way the pattern has unfolded last couple years. Going to hang onto hope with the pros in here honking for colder weather developing.

    Yea that’s nuts to hear.. I would go up to the Bills games a lot when I still lived in CT and I know lake effect hasn’t really done much this year. Pretty depressing if you like snow.

    What a damn shame.. was really starting to get excited for 1/8 and beyond.. can’t win anymore. Hoping to at least get another coating Friday into Saturday but even that seems like a wish at this point.

    I would say verbatim right now if you’re west of 64 and up and down 81 you feel halfway decent. A lot going to change though I’m sure.

    Just had a huge snow squall pass through. Immediate caving of elevated surfaces, patio and vehicles. Man it feels good to see some snow again esp this early in the season.

    Pretty crazy how quick convection has managed to wrap around the eyewall just within the last 30 min approx. Looking forward to reports as the evening progresses.

    Beautiful place! We stayed in North Topsail two weekends ago and took a drive down to Wrightsville Beach for the day. North Topsail had a lot of construction and renovations going on. Read something they got hit by like an EF2 tornado or something during one of the tropical events couple years back. Stay safe!
