Snowfan you are right over the target, I wandered in there a few times and quickly “met” some people who are just insufferable and not worth interacting with. Name calling and personal insult immediately rather than discussion. Not a forum, plenty full of crazy. My brief comment history there speaks for itself.

Hillbilly from the country here with a couple tips: This viewpoint won’t endear country folks anywhere, and I’ll just bet they’ll be smart enough to figure out who’s a pretender. People from all walks of life can recognize those who believe themselves superior to others. “Hillbillies” hate that attitude, and hate phony ostentatious behavior. People who openly imply that people from the country are stupid rubes are, in fact, are thoroughly demonstrating their own ignorance. Country folks know where stupid people come from. It surely isn’t from the country. You probably should just sell your property and dwell among smart and classy people such as yourself. Bless your heart.

Last evening, after the sun set, I heard a few spring peepers for the first time this spring. In the twilight two nights back, I heard several woodcock doing their fantastic courtship displays, but it was too dark to spot them. Spring is making serious headway in the region this week and next.

GFS say get your lawn mower ready for action. Beware the bugs of March. Sincerely, Capt. Obvious

The handle "Weather Won't", which intends zero disrespect toward Will, is just hilariously true in its ultimate context as a statement on the forum as to the plight of the mid-Atlantic.

“I know I am, but what are you?” Why are some posters so reactive? Is it really that bad if someone disagrees, teases or jibes? Or, God forbid, outright criticizes. Mark Twain has a famous saying about this, just saying. Think before hitting the keys.

@ CAPE We Shoremen are blessed to live in the land of pleasant living for sure. Yesterday I worked in the garden, was hoping for a little snow to cover up the strawberries one more time. The weather was simply glorious, it even makes you (almost) miss the insect madness of the approaching warm season. But true enough, my weenie mind wasn’t giving much credence to the trends. I learn alot from you guys, and was sorta paying attention, just rolled my mental dice in denial. Haha the pity flakes have now begun!

2-4 inches? 100% chance, eh? That must have been a typo. It is bone dry in Kent County, lol, it’s barely sprinkled a few drops of rain. Northwest trend for the win, things back to more normal. But the GFS suckered us lowlanders on this event. Everyone eventually gets a turn on screwage in the mid-Atlantic. Over time it happens way more often on the shore. Been almost 20 here for the season and won’t complain. Carry on!

January 28-29 2022 Miller abcdefu Storm Obs/Discussion
baldereagle replied to mappy's topic in Mid Atlantic
Quite the event, impressive storm. Southernmost Dorchester County got started later (8:00 pm)but caught the heavy outer coastal band for a bit. It’s blowing hard , gusting 30-40. Roads must be a drifting mess. At least 4 inches fell but it’s so windy that getting a good measurement will be difficult. I’ve spent alot of time down here, the weather on this peninsula jutting into Fishing Bay/Tangier Sound is high volatility. -

Arrived at my house in Crocheron at 5:30 p. to dry weather no precip and 38. Had driven in snow from Chestertown until Trappe. Snow didn’t begin here at the bottom of Dorchester Co. until 7:20. North wind picking up now and so is the snow. -
January 28-29, 2022 Miller abcdefu Storm Threat

That's precisely correct, and every single one of us has moments where we are not at our best, or what we strive to be. I enjoy the learning, the commenters and their persona. Respect to you, it is self-uplifting to acknowledge our emotions, our personal shortcomings. Are there people here who don't understand that they don't understand? Absolutely, as there are all over the world. They make themselves obvious and aren't here long. Cheers, your commentary is a reason among many to come here. -

Stat padder! Lol. Nothing from nothing leaves……. -
Karma is such a bitch that it could boomerang, potentially, unfortunately redirected, right back at you. I proffer to you a slight varaition---- "I hope you get something." Leaves one wondering. We all want you to get something.

Southern MD / Lower Eastern Shore weather discussion
baldereagle replied to PrinceFrederickWx's topic in Mid Atlantic
That was truly awe-inspiring. There was near-zero visibility for awhile in Kent Co., MD this morning. Snow literally was visibly accumulating while you observed for just moments. Tree damage in my yard from 11 inches. What a powerful storm! -

Tip o’ the hat to the CAPE storm? Hell yeah!!!!

It’s of a Portland cement nature and heavy so heavy amounts could damage trees and shrubs. Obviously hope it attains more ratio but it’s coming down hard.

Southern MD / Lower Eastern Shore weather discussion
baldereagle replied to PrinceFrederickWx's topic in Mid Atlantic
Eastern Shore pummeling incoming?!?! Who woulda thunk it even a day or so ago? (Hint: The rabid snow-starved of the Mid-Atlantic forum often fear a coastal fringing when things looking strong for the plain.) Not that this can’t go awry, but to say we are all due is obvious. Some day, maybe tomorrow(!)we’ll see… -

You mean to say that we're going to be treated to some more uppershoresadness? Or will it possibly be a mauling up and down the shore? Things have been so weird; that seems when, at times, improbable outcomes can and do happen. Or not. -
The rain and snain Stays mainly on the plain.

Sad to learn of the loss of your Dad, it's really a difficult experience. You and your family were able to be there for/with him when he needed you the most, hang in there, take care, take heart and celebrate him. Here's to an uplifting '22.

Woohoo! Another snainshower here in Kent, overperformance rocks! Look at us getting on the board, well some of us, at least.

Very light sleet/snow mix in downtown Chestertown for several minutes, then sprinkles. That's it for 2021, so let's go!!

That will make for a great day, enjoy. Hope you see the owl. Dorchester County, Maryland is a splendid place. No matter what, you'll always see fascinating things when you are exploring there.
