I just spoke with a fellow coach who lives in Andover. A lot of tree damage. He is estimating half the town may be without power. The HS football game got postponed to tomorrow evening.
Worse of the storm has passed. Had some small hail mixed in along with torrential rain, gusty winds, frequent vivid lightning and very loud thunder.
Easily the most severe storm this summer.
Dr Knapp said the same yesterday. He also said that even if Lee misses the entire east coast that there will be a significant amount of beach erosion along the entire eastern seaboard. He is also concerned about Lee getting larger as it weakened some while moving north.
At this point all possibilities need to be to be considered. Yesterday Dr Knapp did a great presentation on how things can change quickly with a forecasted track. Hopefully Lee passes OTS without hitting the US and Canadian Maritimes.
Same guy that complains about it not being cold enough?
Same guy who complains about the snowfall forecast busting low?
...but it ain't going to be just a lack of power that you and others will be dealing with. That may be the least of your concerns...
..if a Cat 3 or 4 hit SNE I'd give it to 2 days after the storm before you'd be complaining about how long it is taking for things to return to normal...
