  1. Essentially the best chess AI's are self taught so that may be the best approach to take with AI weather models as opposed to teaching the model(s)
  2. I am not sure why anyone would object to the question I asked...
  3. I agree...just read the article about the former member of the Rice University Womens Soccer team. I am a long time chess player, AI has been a part of the chess world for many years. It is a valuable tool in the chess world...so there are situations where AI can have a positive impact but to your point I agree with you for the most part.
  4. Are you referring to AI in general or only to the AI weather models?
  5. ..it is because numerous people here do not want to read/hear the truth...
  6. As things stand right now it looks like at least the next 8-10 days go by the wayside....
  7. Very light snow has redeveloped so I may have to update the total later on..
  8. 3/4 of an inch in Rainthuen...brings the seasonal total to 3.25...somehow, someway we have survived the onslaught..
  9. As things stand right now, only the last week of December has the chance of saving the Merrimack Valley area from another below average snowfall month...not saying it is likely...
  10. Gotta love the big "0" right over the Winter Wonderland aka Rainthuen...lol
  11. Oh I can shrug it off because I will never allow weather to impact my life in the way it does to some other people here..
  12. Play your cards right and I may be able to get the Methuen DPW to sign the postcard!
  13. My Christmas postcard to Ray...it should arrive by Friday!
  14. ..sort of like with the baseball statgeeks, a lot more information is available which has made everyone into an "expert"despite the lack of training. There is such a thing as information overload as you know. Someone such as yourself knows which weather information to pay attention to and which information to ignore.
  15. Final update from Rainthuen...2.6 inches of snow and sleet....for the most part snow growth was terrible prior to mixing setting in....for a reference point think Connor Wong's batting average last season...
