  1. Are any of the fall allergy prone people here having more serious than normal allergies over the past week or so? I am. I will have to consult the dead sea scrolls and see what this means for winter.
  2. Indeed. Been howling most of the weekend, but more so overnight and especially this a.m. "Howling" is probably excessive. Maybe few small pots of mums blew over.
  3. I can only speculate that everything built on that island within the last 30-40 years was done so to the strictest of hurricane standards but anything else has to be gone.
  4. Having this depressing round table talk about how expensive energy costs are going to be in New England this winter from an energy analyst guy, and man, the sh.it is grim. The one thing he said is a "positive" is the long range weather is calling for above normal temps. I guess it will be a lame winter, weatherwise and for energy cost as well.
  5. Yes. Yesterday morning it was mid 30s and snowing for a few hours. There is. Video of it on Facebook but I don't tmhink it will link unless your a member of the lake page.
  6. Closing camp for the summer. Snow and 30s this a.m. and sun and 40s in the afternoon. Stacking and storing firewood, and of course, putting to sleep more super uncomfortable Adirondack chairs that no one uses. That barometric pressure gauge is from 1920 or so.
  7. Been snowing most of the morning up around 2K here in the 'dacks. 36F currently.
  8. It's darker out now than when I left for work at 6am. Raining buckets... Raining Cats and Dogs... Coming Down in Sheets... [Insert favorite, heavy rain idiom/ expression here]
  9. I get what you're saying. June and the first part of July were fairly comfortable to me. Wall to wall heat and humidity didn't happen from June through august. The heavy heat and humidity crammed into 5 or 6 weeks was bearable to me. And I am one to usually cry and have meltdowns over toilet-paper-sticking-to-my-azz, sweat-dripping-off-my-dome heat and humidity. Maybe it's because I am older, but I wasn't too worked up about the HHH period this summer.
  10. You are probably right about the Great White band in N.H. Those guys can still do it. I have trouble with Warrant and no Jani Lane. I am not sure which singer is there now. I used to be a big Dokken fan back in the day. Saw them open for Loverboy in 87, and then again on the Monsters of Rock tour in 88. That is a bummer about Don's vocals, but it happens to all of them. For example, Rob Halford really needs to give it up at this point. At 70 plus years he has nothing left to proove.
  11. Thanks. Should be awesome. The environmentalists nightmare show.
  12. ... After multiple Covid delays I will be enjoying some serious stein tonight at Gillette.
  13. Ha. This is great. I saw all of those bands back in the day, and even more recently. Had tickets to the infamous Great White, Station show but just decided not to go at the last minute.
  14. All 3 nights of the Brooklyn Fair (T,F,S) had rain. Was not good for the Agricultural Society.
  15. Yeah. It was good. I am already envisioning some of the story heading in a certain direction, but I am probably wrong on my assumptions.
  16. What has been result of our massive drought(s) here this summer? I haven't followed too closely the impacts on the farming industry or other businesses, etc. What impact has stein had here, how bad has the suffering been? I haven't seen any direct impacts hit me so I am curious how its been around the rest New England (as opposed to OLD England as I know they had some serious dry days over there this summer as well).
  17. I've come close during some snow events but I think 3am was my peak, getting back up before 7am.
  18. The Sickness: Driving through the heaviest downpours since who knows when, and only wondering, how many inches of snow per hour this would be in a winter set up. Followed by thinking how ridiculous I am, only to drive through a heavier downpour only to think the same thing again.
  19. lol. I actually put the shacket on after the sun whent down. (Shacket = Carhart shirt/jacket type garment.)
