  1. Sign O' the times. It wasnt too long ago where you wouldn't even discuss a 2.5" snowfall. 12+ or 24+ or go home. This is indeed a sad state of the season we are in.
  2. ...Winter hitting hard earlier this a.m., east of the (Quinebaug) river. I have hunkered down and taken all safety precautions.
  3. Black Pond off of 101 in East Killingly. meh to o.k.
  4. No. They are not local, but 90 minutes away. Not in a spot where I can be there everyday. They have gone through the elder services in their town and it's not what it is cracked up to be. Unfortunately that is where all of the corporate and other types came from ...all of these types looking for deposits on services, and seemingly empty promises....Most keep pushing them to go into assisted living homes which they are not looking to do. Just like evething else it seems to be a racket.
  5. This is the worst...like 34F and drizzle...like when you don't shake your pee pee after peeing kind of drizzle. Sh.it sucks.
  6. ...People, people! Please don't be down, and turn those aggressive frowns upside down. I see rivers of frustration and negativity beginning to overflow from the chalice of patience. We must teach our inner beings to stay strong, while we eliminate all mean spirited comments. If you feel your overactive brain becoming riddled with the need to lash out, take a second to think it through. Remember, breath in...breath out, and mentally swipe away all negativity with the squeegee of tranquility.
  7. All we are getting is dirty whiff's of Old Man Winter's soiled drawers.
  8. I am just posting this here because I trust (many) people's thoughts and opinions on different stuff besides weather. My parents are at a point where they don't move around as they used to (mom in her 80's, dad in his 90's), and they need help for everyday chores, and activities in and around their house. ...A driver to take them to appointments...Someone to do chores...and possibly a cook. They are determined to stay in their house for as long as possible, trying to avoid elder care living facilities. My mom has spent a few weeks talking to various people from different elder care service providers, and it has been nothing short of exhausting, hellish, and ultimately not what they are looking for. The people come in and want these long term contracts, and spend a bunch of time talking, and giving out referrals, which lead to more of the same....all of them tied into some company, etc. that really just wants deposit money, contracts, etc. In the end, nothing happens...no errands run, no driving, no cooking of food, just blah, blah, blah, and they go to bed tired and frustrated. I know this is kind of a niche thing, but I am looking to see if any others have had similar situations with loved ones, and if you were able to find people to do this kind of work, without getting into the whole corporate thing. Almost like a Craig's List for elder help, but with more vetting of the individuals if possible. I have heard stories about people getting lucky with that college student who takes these kinds of tasks on as a part time job while studying. Thanks.
  9. ...Random sh.it that seems to find me on the wicked wide web. No idea why someone would create this. https://www.unilad.com/news/human-body-simulation-helicopter-blades-607299-20230111?source=facebookstories&fbclid=IwAR0-GU6MpM9TjfKsaT0PAHv8t-br5sXAxkWWiCh8-hL2kAx5t8vXIvWFzIk
  10. ...Fatties been falling for a good hour plus here at work.
  11. Martha's Vineyard will have close to 3 x's my snow for the season if that verifies, and I hope it does.
  12. Sit back, relax, and take deep breaths. There's always hope, but as long as you accept your place within nature, and more importantly your local environment, the weather won't matter. ...Snow? Rain? Sun? Ice? Wind? Accept all of it into your being. Only then will you be truly free from your perceived state of sadness and helplessness.
  13. Stay safe, especially with your boat.
  14. "Pushing' the snow like Tony Montana". This guy is a legend.
  15. That sh.it is great. Imagine the weight on the bridges. I love how someone was weenie enough to want to film this from different viewpoints. That person is probably a member of this page.
