Yeah, anything below 0 is completely unnecessary...actually anything below 20 degrees is unnecessary. It should just stay at 32, that way we can still have snow, but no one has time for this cold

I think it flipped to snow here around 3pm? Maybe it was 2pm, Alex will fire me if I'm wrong It pretty much went right into heavy snow, and roads got bad fast. When I left work at 530pm I had a bit of trouble getting out of the parking lot. My travel lane on 302 was somewhat plowed so lucky me. But I couldnt see more than 25feet in front of me, and when the wind gusted it was almost completely whiteout. It was the heaviest snow I have ever driven in. Not sure what getting out of the parking lot where I live is going to be like in the morning. The parking lot drops down off of 302, so I have to wait for a big opening in traffic and punch the gas to get through the plow pile and out into the road. Fun times.

All rain where I live in NNH, some mangled pellets every now and then...def not getting the 8-18inches I keep seeing in the AFD

The Mt Washington auto road sensors show the warm tongue quite dramatically. Below freezing up to 4000feet where it jumps into the 40s! The Summit is still above freezing as well.

2 inches of snow and then it was a sleet party off and on all day...then it was rain and sleet. At one point driving home from work it starting pouring sleet and I had my high beams on and it looked like diamonds...never experienced that before. No Idea what this next wave will bring.

Well the last time I looked at the models for NNE, wave 1 was the warm one and wave 2 was the cold and snow. That was maybe 2 days ago. PF had posted a radar simulation of the long duration event. But what's really taking place is the opposite. Interesting...

Alex's weather station with the sneaky below 0 reading this morning. Been seeing the NWS graphics showing ridging and above normal temps for the eastern half of the country. Me thinks that indicates a boundary will set up somewhere and create overrunning snows, and be the focal point for ripples of energy. Just not sure where that boundary will set up.

No way! Not all years are going to have snow totals that knock your socks off. This is my first winter in NNE, but I know from being in the NNE thread a lot in the past, other years have been better. there hasn't been anything yo write home about, yet, this year. The pattern seems locked in, so I guess we just enjoy what we have, and maybe next winter will be better.
