  1. Truth be told, I'd rather be tracking the 70 degree temps, than be under a winter storm watch. I've shifted from cold season into warm season mode.
  2. The real heavy stuff is to the south and east if Bretton Woods. Bartlett to Conway have 4 inches and counting. Maybe half inch here. We get heavy bursts of snow but they are short-lived and then it goes back to light snow
  3. Do you a fall-out shelter for your chickens?
  4. My brain switches so easily into spring mode, that I absolutely abhor these normal swings back to winter. Once we hit 50 degrees, I never want to go backwards.
  5. Mud season in full force here...the dog is muddy and wet. I had to pull a dukes of hazard maneuver to get into my driveway. Perfect ice fishing weather. Some ding ding thought they were going to drive their pick-up onto the ice to pull out their Bob house. Front tires went right through the ice. He was lucky he was able to reverse out of his dumb idea. Got my first sunburn of the season yesterday out on the ice. Bonus- got to watch a pair of bald eagles making a nest. Caught a few rainbows. Now I have the the window open in my bedroom. Super windy, though. Scattered power outages with branches and a few trees down

  7. Had the car thermometer hit 70. Got up at 430am to go ice fishing. Started the day at around 30 degrees. Around 65 degrees when we packed up and headed out. First sunburn of the season courtesy of the sun, and then the reflection off the ice
  8. We lost a lot of snow today. 55 degrees felt amazing! I want more
  9. Somebody went for a joy ride in a truck down a snowmobile trail and put themselves in Mt Deception Creek, right at the bottom of my street. Got to watch some live entertainment as they brought 2 flat beds down the snowmobile trail to try to pull the truck out of the creek. I'm gonna go take a look at the scene during daylight and see if I can tell what happened
  10. Rain changed to snow around 745pm. I had dinner in North Conway and it was 43-44 degrees. Left around 7pm and got back to Bretton Woods around 745pm. It was 37 degrees at the Highland Center when I got through the Notch back into BW. Not long after, the temp dropped 1 more degree to 36 and then the rain flipped over to snow. My temp sensor says 34 degrees now.

  12. Snow melting fast here. The pack is primed and even though it's mid 40s, the snow eater fog is in full force
  13. 2 days of rain incoming with temps approaching 50 at 302 level. I'd say- it has been a hell of a ski season up here, but this is going to shut some trails/glades down.
  14. Precip is liquid. It's been a long stretch this winter where the precip was all of the frozen variety. Pattern change? Transition to Spring? Lots of melting now with the increasing sun angle and length of daylight.
  15. Was 2012 the Morch Ginx posted from his Sunday River annual ski trip and it was 86 degrees and people were skiing topless?
  16. My friend in VA Beach just sent me a text. They have 6 inches on the ground and still snowing. The entire city is basically shut down.
  17. Yes, the wind these last few days has been insane. Nothing stays plowed. Recessed entryways are getting the snow piled in by the wind, up to the doorknobs. Ground blizzard during strong sustained gusts. It's been pretty crazy
  18. Not the greatest storm here in Bretton Woods. Minor accumulation of about 3 inches, but really can't tell because the wind is ridiculous. I went to Lancaster and they had 6-7 inches. Berlin had about the same as Lancaster so I think Bretton Woods got shadowed
  19. Pretty decent snow band has moved in. The biggest change is the wind has really picked up now.
  20. Light baking powder here. We had a good hour of decent snow growth and nice size flakes last night. I had to run some.errands and actually enjoyed driving around. But mostly it's jist been baking powder.
