  1. No doubt. Worst year for deer flies in quite a while. Been catching 20- 30 flies on my 'tanglefoot hat' every day when I take the doggo for his 30 minute walk in the woods.
  2. Meanwhile the New London county storm shield is functioning all too well. Almost zero lightning strikes east of the CT river in SE CT. All north of Colchester.
  3. Quickly up to 75 after a nice low of 58 this morning. Awesome day on tap!
  4. Incredibly soupy down here. 85/76. Will look to the north to see if there are any good cloud structures over central CT later today.
  5. That line bowed right out over your head. Looks wicked.
  6. Nice storm aiming right for the house. (same storm that was tor warned earlier). Just constant rumbling thunder as it gets closer. 78/73 humid.
  7. Wow, we're up to 86 down here. Granted the sun was out in full force from 9 until noon (right when I was out weeding the garden). High clouds now.
  8. Finally over 90 today. 91/69 currently.
  9. Yep, that's pretty sweet looking.
  10. Finally on a heater down here. 88.4 @ 11:30 compared to 82.7 yesterday. 71.8 dewpoint. I think we'll finally get our 90+ day today.
  11. Despite the high level clouds we're running 2 degrees ahead of yesterday. 76/69 vs 74/66 yesterday. Wonder if we'll break 90 for the first time today before any storm activity.
  12. Made it to 89 today. Hoping for some decent rumbles tomorrow.
  13. 87/72. Hottest of the week so far. Not likely to hit 90 at this rate.
  14. 80/69 a little less dewey here today. Just typical warm June days.
  15. 84/71 off a high of 86 so far today. Some high level clouds moving through right now.
  16. 77/68 exactly the same as this time yesterday. Will be interesting to see if we beat yesterday's 85 for a high.
  17. Storms to the north and east. Storms to the south and west. Might be lucky to get .25" Anyway, a nice light drink for the garden.
  18. Huh....never took you for the type to look for 'bears'.
  19. Off a high of 79, currently 76/66
  20. Same here in the forest behind my house. European and American Beach trees are in very poor shape. I do have one Copper Beach in the yard that does not seem to be affected by the BLD, but has had some kind of white fungus on the leaves the past two seasons. Wondering how this will affect the mushroom growth this year as all the dead oaks and dead or missing Beach leaves are letting a ton of extra sunlight down to the forest floor. Will the extra light reduce the humidity under the canopy and reduce the amount of mushrooms we get? I guess we'll see.
