I have not heard of these 'Iowa Brownies', or maybe they are called something else here? What are they? (course Iowa and brownies and cattle bring other images up too lol!)
Shattered the daily rainfall record here, 2.19 in gauge this am. Old mark was 0.77 from 1996. Also, looks like 2020 will slide into 2nd place for total rainfall with 7.04 inches. 2011 holds top spot with 7.12 inches.
On vacation this week. Right now I WAS supposed to be in the air heading to Vegas to meet son and then pick up the rental car and head for Death Valley, Joshua Tree and Sequoia NP's for 10 days...... oh well, maybe next year. A staycation it has became and I'll work on the yard and house.
Watched my resident deer herd roll back thru this morning, grazing on the greens on the forest floor and low trees as they passed. Seven this morning, last night just before dark watched nine do the same heading back up the hill.
So, I consider 50's and 60's spring and fall, with rain and clouds 3 or 4 out of 7 days for the week. It HAS been spring for a long time, since like January. 70's and up are summer, 40's and lower is winter.
Low of 29.0 here, nowhere near a record (22 in 1997), BUT the snow yesterday morning DID set a record as I had never recorded snow on the date, so 0.2 is the new mark lol. Currently 29.6/23.2 with clear skies and a WSW wind of 4 mph.
