  1. Yep! Enjoy! I just got back in, need to do a couple things here in house before stupid 3-11 shift starts... A few clouds starting to build in, but other wise sun and 70's, perfect! All you out and about, have a GREAT day!!
  2. WHY?? There's INCHES of rain on the way, the models........the models.......never mind, carry on!!
  3. About as perfect a summer day as you could ask for! THIS/that is what summer SHOULD look like. Sunny with a few clouds mixed in, a light N to NW breeze and low humidity. High was 80.7, low 50.8, currently 51.7/49.8. OUTSTANDING!! Headed out to enjoy, 'cuz it won't last......
  4. Wonderful start to the day, 53.3/51.9 and hardly a cloud in the sky!
  5. Almost 3/4 inch from the various storms from yesterday afternoon thru overnight here. .40 fell in 30 minutes, and .30 of THAT in 10 minutes in first storm around 3:30 pm.
  6. Looks quite tropical for the end of weekend into next week on the models.....wet, wet, wet!
  7. Heavy storm just rolled thru here, dropped .40 in 30 minutes with .30 in 10 minutes! Dropped temp from 85.8 to 72.3 also, so a super win!!
  8. had a quick thundershower roll thru about an hour ago. Dropped temp from 86 to 75...thankfully.
  9. Where did THIS come from!?! One heck of an electrical storm going on here now. Last I saw of forecast discussion from NWS Blacksburg at noon was they were gonna put a SMALL chance of storms to the east (of Lynchburg) due to a coupe models showing that possibility. Nothing for here. Now under a warning and it is a rockin'!
  10. I think the CO-op spot up in Covington may be having some issues. I'm only 4 miles away and it definitely hasn't gotten that chilly last two nights and I see no ash on the ground or in the sky.......
  11. I have that every day! Well, mine has a smidgen of orange juice and a little carbonation and a few artificial sweeteners....but still water listed first.
  12. After the beautiful and perfect past 3/4 days, only way to properly describe this morning is Y U C K. Already 68.3/62.8 at 7 am. BLAH, Roanoke was 77 at 7 am!!! NUTS. Supposed to be 88 here today. I want a rewind to Saturday please. But on a serious note, it was a wonderfully cool May, so one month of the HHH was tossed.
  13. Not sure if we were to pick high temps now or later, I'll add mine and you can include if you wish. Thanks! DCA 100 NYC 99 BOS 99 ORD 98 ATL 100 IAH 105 DEN 103 PHX 117 SEA 96
  14. OK, I got my numbers together, here we go, May 2020.... Averaged high for month was 67.7 degrees vs the 74.4 degree average, a -6.7 below normal AND a new record 'low max' for the month, breaking 2003's 69.5 degree reading by a good bit. The warmest temp recorded was 83.1 degrees on the 17th.The averaged low was 47.5 degrees vs the average of 48.0 degrees, a -0.5 below normal. The coldest temp recorded for the month was 29.4 degrees on the 10th. Overall averaged temp was 57.6 degrees vs the average of 61.2 degrees, a -3.6 below normal and slides into 3rd coolest May ever recorded here behind 1997's 55.8 degree and 2005's 57.1 degree readings. Total rainfall for the month was 6.32 inches vs a normal of 4.11 inches, a +2.21 above normal. The wettest day was on the 22nd with 1.31 inches falling. Although a big plus, not in top 5 largest years, with 2009's 8.03 inches leading the way. There were 17 days with measurable, 3 days with a 'T' and 11 dry days. Highest wind recorded was 31 mph on the 15th and 10th. I recorded 13 days with winds above 25 mph. It was a record filled month, with 12 new ones! The above mentioned averaged high for the month, then 6 new record 'cool maxes' (to produce the monthly) on the 2nd, 7th, 10th, 12th, 19th and 21st. Three new record daily low temps on the 7th, 9th and 10th. Then two new daily rainfall records, 1.01 inches on the 21st and 1.22 inches on the 19th. Overall a cool and wet month. Records kept since October 1979.
  15. Outstanding past 24 hours. For those screaming for 'normal', last two days and today is for you. A slightly chilly start here, 42.5 currently, low was 41.8. NO WHERE near record of 33 in 1984, AKA as the year of no or very later 'maters, as we had back to back very frosty 33 degree lows on 5/31 and 6/1 1984.
  16. UGH! DCA: +1.3 NYC: +0.4 BOS: +0.1 ORD: +1.3 ATL: +1.8 IAH: +0.9 DEN: -0.3 PHX: +0.8 SEA: -0.6
  17. Sitting at 6 1/3 inches for the month here, I'd share if I could....
  18. every pound counts in that 1/4 and 1/8 mile!
  19. Definitely can feel the air isn't as sticky this am, thankfully.......
  20. With the 0.62 overnight I have crossed the 6 inch mark for the month. Amazing as we are maybe 60/70 miles or so apart as the crow flies. 6.28 currently.
  21. Sadly they have/are happening down this way. Wet, wet, wet.
  22. The SPHL runs a 56 game regular season, it is just about right. Usually starts last week of October and playoff champ is crowned in early May.
  23. Great choice! What did you say you have? 4 acres? You've got PLENTY of time......
