Rain falling here this morning and 48 degrees.

Late, late, late! My numbers for September 2022. Averaged high was 75.8 degrees vs the normal of 76.9 degrees, a -1.1 degrees below normal, The warmest temp recorded was 83.3 degrees on the 21st. Averaged low temp was 53.2 degrees vs the normal of 53.7 degrees, a -0.5 degrees below normal. The coldest temp recorded was 38.0 degrees on the 28th. Overall averaged temp was 64.5 degrees vs a normal of 65.3 degrees, a -0.8 degrees below average. Total precip was 3.07 inches vs the normal of 3.55 inches, a -0.48 inches below normal. The greatest daily rainfall was 0.78 inches on the 9th. There were 12 days with measurable, 0 days with a 'T' and 18 dry days. No new records to report. Overall a slightly cooler and drier than normal month. Records date to October 1979.

After some clearing/sun late morning/early afternoon yesterday (and allowing temps to make low 60's), the clouds have rotated back in again and a few sprinkles now and then. NWS missed badly on forecasted lows, called for 47, actual was 40.

Been a cool stretch last few days. Haven't seen 55 degrees in almost 90 hours here now.... currently 48.2/47.2 and cloudy. Yesterday's high was 54.6, nowhere near record cool max of 47.8 from 2011.

Same here yesterday, ended up with 0.66 of 'nothing on the radar 90% of the day' while I had light rain/drizzle and an occasional heavier shower that never stopped.

High was 51.5 degrees, setting a new 'cool max' for the date, breaking 2011's 52.8 degree reading here. Currently STILL rain/drizzle/fog and 52.7/51.9. Around 2" total on the rainfall since it began.

38.2/37.4 here, first light frost of the season, mostly on cars and other elevated objects.

Currently 49.8/48.1 here, low was 49.6, first sub 50 since 6/20. I like it! LOVE the 35 at Canaan, around 3 am it was 32.9!

Heavy shower formed just to my NE and headed SW, keeps backbuilding...pouring here for last hour.

My numbers for the month of August 2022 Averaged high was 81.4 degrees vs a normal of 82.7 degrees, a -1.3 degrees below normal. Highest temp recorded was 88.9 degrees on the 10th. Averaged low was 61.8 degrees vs a normal of 60.4 degrees, a +1.4 degrees above average. The coolest temp recorded was 52.9 degrees on the 13th. Overall average temp was 71.6 degrees vs a normal of 71.6 degrees, a bullseye of 0.0 degrees off. Total rainfall for the month was 4.66 inches vs a normal of 3.32 inches, a +1.34 inches above normal. The wettest day was the 1st with 1.29 inches falling. There were 15 days with measurable, 3 days with a 'T' and 13 dry days. Highest wind recorded was 33 mph on the 11th. There were a few records, the 1.29 inches on the 1st was a new daily rainfall, then there were back to back record 'cool max's' on the 16th and 17th. Overall a slightly wetter and very average month temp wise. Again, another month where the highs are below average but the lows are warmer...

Well, ended August with 17 mornings with fog with less than a mile visibility.... what is the old tale of number foggy days = snows during winter???

Was awakened by the sound of thunder earlier this am, nice little storm and now a gentle rain falling, 65.5/64.4.

VA used to have the "Kings Dominion" thing were schools couldn't start until after Labor Day, counties were allowed to 'exempt out' if they had enough snow days over a certain average of years I believe.

Yep, hit 66.4 a few minutes after that comment, then down it went, so a new 'cool max' for the date of 66.4 degrees, beating 1994's 69 degree reading. I haven't seen 70 degrees in about 66 hours. Currently 58.0/57.2 and cloudy.

Looks like I am headed for a '2 fer', currently 66.3 degrees, which is the high for the day, been 63/64 about all day until the last hour. I'll hold off to see if the 69 from 1994 holds until morning. Crazy cool last 48 hours socked in the clouds/fog/drizzle/ENE winds here.
