  1. How long is 'shortly'? Been waiting over two hours now for an answer. I'll ask again. I parked my '64 American Rambler 770 wagon during the snows of winter '65/'66, and now it has a terrible miss in cylinder 3. Got any ideas?
  2. Yep, that be a 'T', congrats!! Flurries in the air here this morning.
  3. Only 0.02 here, very light sprinkles and rain showers for about 12 hours starting around 5 pm last evening. What we have now is WIND, which we always do well, NW at 10-20 and gusting near 30 last several hours.
  4. Guess I've become slightly immune to the stuff, SOME quirky off the wall things and people desperately wanting snow is to be expected when several years of crappiness has happened. But I do miss the days when discussion was 90+% about the weather and models and not everything else in the long range. OH, and PSU just gave us that 'control feature' everybody was asking for lol.
  5. GREAT post. Now THIS ^^ THIS is what needs posted at the top of the forum. BTW, great to hear from you Bob, thanks for taking us along your adventure with the updates and pics.
  6. Currently 25/24 here with a HEAVY frost on all objects and freezing fog, under 0.2 visibility. All elevated objects slicker than, well, you know. Skies stayed cloudy all day yesterday with a light NE to E wind, only topped out at 39.7 degrees. Forecast was MILES off, had sunny skies and mid to upper 40's for highs, they kept lowering highs and increasing cloud cover thru day with each update lol.
  7. Currently 34.5/27.7 and cloudy on a NE breeze at 3-5 mph at 10:30. PERFECT day to put up the Christmas stuff in and out. Only fell to 28.7 overnight as the clouds banked up against us after midnight.
  8. My TV ended up on an NFL game for the first time in probably 3-4 years with all the folks here. THAT was a horrible performance by TWFU's....
  9. Well, we'll end up with 14 or 15 here, so some clean up and preparing going on here, but it has now become tradition for family to come here in last three years. I don't mind, super nice to see all the family. Wishing all a super and safe Thanksgiving out there in forumland!!
  10. Yep. Step up and take one (or a bunch) for the team!!
  11. Down to 39.4 here, we'll see if this comes to fruition in the morning, especially up high. Had a couple rounds of drizzle and sprinkles in last two hours. VAZ019-020-WVZ507-508-230600- Alleghany VA-Bath-Eastern Greenbrier-Western Greenbrier- Including the cities of Clifton Forge, Covington, Hot Springs, Lewisburg, White Sulphur Springs, Alderson, Quinwood, Duo, and Rainelle 551 PM EST Wed Nov 22 2023 ...LIGHT WINTRY MIX POSSIBLE TONIGHT... A wintry mix of rain, snow, and freezing drizzle is expected to occur along the higher ridges tonight. The patches of freezing drizzle or snow will most likely be confined to the highest elevation, west facing ridges. Slow down and use caution while traveling as slick spots could form on roadways.
  12. I usually mow at least once, sometimes twice in December just to pick up and shred whatever leaves I can.
  13. 1.79 inches for the daily here, new record, beating 1991's 1.14 inches. First 1"+ 24 hour rainfall since 7/14 (1.42) and last time I received a greater amount was way back on 11/12/22 with 2.49 inches.
  14. Over an inch (closer to 1.10") since 7 am here, MUCH needed. Temp still hasn't hit 40, but close at 39.4/38.2.
  15. Between the 7 am ob (0.06) and what I can eyeball in the gauge now from the back window, about 0.40 has fallen so far here. 37.3/36.5 currently. Another 5 degrees this would have been interesting, at least the front end.
  16. What leaves? They've been off the trees 10-14 days here lol.
  17. Yep, 3 on the money here, and it hung around for a few days as temps were in the 30's for highs and teens for lows.
  18. LOL, I can barely use the rider on 75% of the yard, I'd likely flip one of those. Don't think I haven't thought about trying one though
  19. Picked up 0.11 here, not much but after last 60 days I'll take it as a win.
  20. Nice to have a bit of rain falling. HOPE it helps even a little with the fires.
  21. I've been gone a few hours, anything different on the medium to long range models??
  22. In all seriousness I have spent last two days trying to rake and haul off as much of them as I can!
  23. Not sure where the fire is, but it has to be close. Started smelling smoke about 3 hours ago, and now visibility is under a mile. Traffic cam about 2 miles away on VA511 in Low Moor I 64 Exit 21 EDIT- nope, looks like the smoke from fire on the Blue Ridge Parkway has found its way here. Lexington looks just as bad on traffic cams. Virginia 511 Web (511virginia.org)
