  1. Looking around at river/creek flows in my area, MOST (not all) have managed to get near 25% to median of flow, way up from around the 10% mark of last week. I've had close to 3/4 inch in last 12 hours, and around 1.25-1.50" in last week. That is a start, it will take a LOT more to get them running/flowing like they should be at this point in the year, or we will fall right back down towards that 10% number.
  2. Trying to sling that blob of rain that moved thru here up towards @Jrlg1181's way....
  3. Sun has come out here, close to 1/2 inch in gauge since 7 am. Maybe more later?
  4. POURING here right now. Been a light rain since about 8 am, 0.05", last 10 minutes about 0.40"! Starting to let up. Wouldn't want to under something like that for an hour or two. Sheesh, feast or famine.
  5. Wow! That is quite a difference in a not so far distance. I picked up 0.38" in a thundershower that started around 2 am here. Around 1.1-1.2" for the past week.
  6. Several trees have yellowed and dropped around here, I'm guessing from heat stress and dry conditions.
  7. Pretty foggy here earlier, clearing out now. Currently 68.6/64.0 after a 64.0 low. 0.14 in gauge, about .75 in last 5 days, helpful.
  8. So, for the second out of last three mornings I woke up to wetness and water falling from the sky! Just 0.04 in gauge at 7 am reading, but I'll take it! Currently 67.1/66.3 and light rain falling/continuing right at 8 am.
  9. 76.7/63.4 with a light ENE wind at 3 is WORLDS better than the previous week at noon.
  10. First sub 80 high here in a while, 79.1 high! Another 0.23 in gauge this morning, about 6 tenths in last 3 days. Some relief, but more is needed. Currently 63.9/63.0 with PC skies and some fog around.
  11. So, actual RAIN is falling this morning, and not just from a quickly passing T-storm! Started around 8:30 and continues. About 0.15 has fallen after getting 0.28 in a T-storm between 3 and 4 pm yesterday. Currently rain and 71.1/69.8
  12. I sure hope everyone is OK up that way!
  13. @Jrlg1181 may have gotten wet, but looks like the same thing happened as last night, LOTS of water south of 64, not so much north near his location.

As someone posted, the end of month was remarkably cooler, and the averages for the month at each location was in the +0.6 to +2.0 range.
  15. @Roger SmithI don't have personal records that far back, but 3 CO-ops go back into 1890's, I'll look.....
  16. 0.25 and still falling, win. Temp down to 72.2 from the 88.9 high.
  17. Welp, lots of 'booming' here in last 10 minutes. On the southern edge of a STW. No water from the sky yet though, we shall see. Winds blowing 20-30 mph.
  18. Yeah, that line did a little hop/skip over me (only 0.10) as it rode up I-64/81 up towards your way. I-64 seemed to be like a wall, then it died off before making C'ville.
  19. LOL at DCA already 88 at 8 am, sheesh.....
  20. For 3rd straight day I've set a new yearly high, 95.2 degrees. And, for the third straight day it is the 3rd warmest for that date again behind 1988's 97 and 1980's 96. Currently hazy, bit of fog and 66.3/65.2. Got a bit of rain (0.10) from a thundershower between 9 and 10 last night, hoping for more today.
  21. Again placed a 3rd for hottest for the date with a 94.6 degree high (and high for the year). Record is 97 from '88 and 2nd 96 from 1980. Currently 68.6/64.2 with cloudy skies that moved in just around sunrise, hoping for some water at some point. Amazing that Roanoke shot up to 103 in late afternoon!! I'm guessing they had a perfect downslope off the ridges to their west for a bit of compression down into the bowl that they are.
  22. Hit 93.0 for the high, hottest so far this year and makes it the third warmest on this date since I've kept records. First goes to 1995 with a 95, second is 1980's 94. Currently 65.7/60.5 with just a few clouds in the sky.
  23. Ended up with 0.14 from the storm that popped up right over top of us between 5 and 6 pm. That gets us just a bit over 1/2 inch for the month so far. Currently 69.8/65.4 with mostly sunny skies after a 62.9 low.
