Exactly. A look like this robs 60% of the forum of snow. MAYBE some ice/sleet to rain, not snow. And one more 'flick' like this and it goes to 80-85% of the group. You want south to be snow and for it to ride up, not west to east.
Well, I'm basically 'jackpotted' with this (between the 16.0 and 17.8) so NOT a final solution, lol. It'll drift back and forth, and I'm fine with that, long as the storm in general hangs in the area.
Almost set a daily precip record with 0.55. Record is 0.57 from 1997, course I'd preferred to match the type of precip too, that fell as 8.4 inches of snow back in '97. High was 59.4, currently 43.3/38.0 at 8 am.
Just 0.19 here at 7 am CoCoRaHS report. Currently 49.6/49.1 with light rain and fog. Temps fell back into low 40's before midnight, then rain returned and temps slowly climbed overnight.
The year after I graduated HS they (Alleghany) played Anacostia in a regular season home football game. I have NO idea how/why/what made that happen lol. Schools are about 4 hours apart in travel time.
NWS did a MUCH better job today, the sun pushed thru clouds this afternoon for a brief time (as forecasted possible) and we zoomed up to 52.0 degrees around 4:30 pm. They called for a 53 high, good call. Currently 48.9/46.7 at 5:45 pm. I like to give kudos when a job is well done since I do rip (as I did yesterday) when a huge fail happens.
0.30 at the 7 am CoCoRaHS report, looks like another .10 or so since. Temps that were stuck in 30's all day yesterday, overnight and early this morning have pushed up to 41.1 at 11 am as the sun is trying to peek through the clouds.
