Well, if you lived in the Blacksburg /Roanoke Lynchburg corridor you'd sing a slightly different tune. Yes, the EC has been 'low on snow' the last three or so years, they've been EXCEPTIONALLY low. LYN 0.5 22/23 and 2.7 23/24. ROA 0.4 22/23 and 4.1 23/24, BKB 1.3 22/23 and 3.5 23/24.

So the sun broke thru the clouds for 20-30 minutes about an hour ago. We were stuck 22/23 degrees, pushed up to 25.5 with the sun, but already back down to 24.6/11.1 now at 4 pm with the return of the clouds. Awaiting the snow.

Nice tractor Bob! I felt the same way about our driveway, shoveled the rest out on wednesday morning (that is semi-flat), was afraid the car would 'walk/slide' across it instead of drive thru or break it. 80% of my driveway looks like the steepness of your pic.

Same here, 19.6/10.1 at noon. Waiting to see how far north the decent (heavier) snows get this evening and overnight. How 'solid' is your snow? I can stand on ours without breaking through from the sleet and freezing drizzle at the end on Monday.

Soared all the way up to 14.7/8.1 at 10:30 under cloudy skies at 10:30.

It'd have to be doubled over lol

True. You never want super duty cold, too much suppression usually. A nice -2 month with a few storms will win 99.6% of the time.

Hi Bob!
-
Low was 6.1 here, around 4 am, then it rose to 7.8 at 7 am CoCoRaHS reading. It was calm for a while overnight, but now have light winds and clouds (high cirrus) has moved in.

Sorta chilly out at Canaan NWR this morning, -17.3 at 5:40 am.
-
Hit single digits just before midnight, currently 9.6/4.0 at 12:30 am.

Neverywhere?

Down to 18.5/7.7 here at 8 pm after a 26.0 high.

I'd gladly take another Feb 2014

But even in VA as a kid I remember getting on the bus as it was snowing, roads covered and heading to school. Heck, as we got older (13/14) I remember several of us once or twice helping the driver put on chains. In '78 we went to school under a blizzard watch or warning, yes, we did get out of school early, but we WENT and got 1/2 day in.

Hey! I made it back over 20! Currently 20.2/7.9 at 11 am with a NW wind 9 gusting to 15, making WC 9 to 6 degrees. Skies have cleared to partly cloudy, and flurries have stopped for last hour or so.

That will help to bring on the others, usually.

Although IMBY is just slightly off screen in that shot, I see what looks like 6+ lollies close by. My heart says yes, my mind says to temper that lol.
-
I rarely wear a jacket/coat, but when I do, it is because the wind is howling. I'll take a -5 in calm winds over 25 and 25 mph winds any day.

Shows the Stevens City desert zone well...@EastCoast

Warmer at this same time this morning (16.5) than yesterday (13.4). I thought we would be colder, but whatever, still chilly. 4.5 inches still on the ground of hard concrete. Yesterday's high was 25.6, flurries on and off basically all day and night, but never accumulated.
-
Not sure about heavy, but does show snow in 51 and 54 frames on 3k
-
Low was 11.8 around 4 am here. Temps have gone up a bit since then, likely combo of clouds returning and W winds increasing. Currently 13.4/6.5 at 7:30 am.

Answer my own question, Dec of '22 they got 0.1. You have to go back to 2018 for an actual snow.
