  1. A cloudy, foggy and wet morning here. Currently 51.1/50.3 at 7:55 am. Rain started shortly after midnight, about 0.12 in gauge.
  2. Canaan Valley NWR down to 25 this morning.
  3. Low was 41.0 degrees, not near a record (34.6 from 2013), but cool. MAYBE today will be the day winds finally decide not to blow into the 20's to near 30 mph from the W/NW lol.
  4. 43.0 low here after a 59.8 high. Sun came out and warmed us to 68 earlier, but the clouds and wind have returned in last 2 hours. Currently 65.5/37.6 with a NNW wind at 11 gusting to 19 mph. The 59.8 set a new record 'cool max' for the date breaking 2017's 60.2 degree reading.
  5. Didn't hit 60 today, but close. 59.7 high, with a good bit of wind and clouds flying overhead. As someone said, feels November or Marchish. Currently 56.6/35.7 with a 'cool' NNW breeze at 13 gusting to 22 mph. Highest wind was 30 mph just after noon.
  6. Have turned partly cloudy here in last 20-30 minutes, still a bit breezy but temps finally going up (53.8/40.6 currently) after a 45.7 low.
  7. My latest freeze is May 31st (1984), so there is always a chance......
  8. 46.8 for the low this morning. Rebounding quickly, already 60.3/50.5 at 9:50 am.
  9. Dang! Caps are done.
  10. 3 day event total 3.58 here. Fog currently and 56.6/55.9.
  11. Just realized that was for MD, but my county (with an 'H') also had schools closed due to flooding. There are four counties named Alleghany or Allegany in the Appalachian region.
  12. Just started raining here again, another slug of moisture coming up from the south on radar.
  13. Yep. Several creeks/branches out of their banks, although the river has crested and gone down a bit. 0.71" here, another rainfall record, breaks 1999's 0.67", and an event total of 3.39". The western end/side of the county got a LOT more water, especially yesterday, with two day totals in the 5-7 inch range.
  14. Closing in on the record (0.67 in 1999) for the date. Still raining and another heavier batch is south/southeast of us and moving this way. Several reports in western in of the county of flooding and road closures with 2-4 inches of rain reported. We missed the 'train' that came thru earlier in the late morning to early afternoon.
  15. Impressive thunderstorm just starting here, been thundering for 15 minutes as it moved in.
  16. Only about 1/3 inch here, but just 20 miles to my SW mom has 2 1/2 inches since this morning! Radar shows heavy rain still rotating around there.
  17. Yep, same here. I've pulled 3/4 off me in last week. Wonder if the dry spell we had back in April had anything to do with the 'abundance'?
  18. That would happen 1 in 10,000,000,000 times, terrible luck.
  19. 2.68" at 7 am CoCoRaHS reading, shattering the old record of 1.02" from 2017 for the date. Still raining lightly, looks like another tenth or so eyeballing the gauge from the house. Temps been locked right around 60 since rain started late yesterday morning.
  20. Low was 36.8 (forecasted 38), but no frost here, wind stayed up JUST enough from the NW. The stuff in the garden still isn't thrilled with the temps lol. No where near record, which is 29.4 from 2022. Several more below 32's on this date, 1983, 2010, 2017 and 1980.
  21. Interesting. I guess it is possible that the electrical charge in the air acted as an amplifier/carrier??
  22. Currently 47.8/33.4 at 10:50 pm. Although there are frost advisories around me (not my county) I think we will be OK as long as the NW/NNW winds running 4-7 mph continue. Forecast low is 38 here.
  23. Yep, spent today cleaning up and preparing the rest of the garden area for planting tomorrow all the 'warm' stuff. 'Maters and peppers, cukes, squash and such go out in the morning, per the CA transplant that is itching to get stuff in the ground, lol.
