  1. Kind of a meaningless stat, but interesting to me, every day of August hit at least 80° at IND. Today was the first day it failed to reach 80 since 7/31.

  3. You know it's boring weather when the long term forecaster at IND is discussing the wind speed forecast for day 5.
  4. Although we are not even in a D0, the grass is beginning to turn brown in this area.

  6. I don't remember ever seeing haze in my point forecast. Today Widespread haze after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the morning. Tonight Widespread haze before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  7. I forgot to throw this up here this morning. Allen County got hammered last night. Also, numerous funnels were reported in the area this afternoon.   8. President Reagan traveled to Fort Wayne to view the massive flooding that was occurring on March 16, 1982. A tornado touched down about 10 miles from Baer Field (now Ft Wayne International)10 minutes before Air Force One landed.
  9. The long term forecaster at IND this morning mentioned the possibility of a "strong" system in that timeframe. Made me look.

  13. Still just a wee bit of disagreement between models for the 4th.
  14. I have absolutely no problem with low to mid 70's on Independence Day.

There is model agreement in depicting below normal temps going into the first weekend of July, but quickly diverge with the Euro dropping in a high pressure over the sub and a quick temperature recovery for the 4th-5th holiday, while the GFS cuts off a low over the Great Lakes, with accompanying well below normal temperatures through the 5th.
