  1. I'm off to my sister tomorrow. She lives at 1,470' in NE Pennsylvania. I'm curious to see the weather there over the next 10 days or so that I'm there.
  2. I canceled meeting my son on Saturday and I'm leaving on Friday because I was afraid of driving in snow. Is it looking okay now, because I have a 200 mile drive.
  3. Sunshine just broke out here in Enfield. Cloudless right overhead.
  4. I skied at Timberline Lodge on Memorial Day weekend in 1999 and they had a 200" base at lodge level. Paradise Lodge broke the national snowfall record with 1,140" of snow in a 12 month season. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures because I used my video camera.
  5. So I'm supposed to drive to my sister on Saturday. Based on the forecast right now, is it better to leave on Christmas Eve? She's located in NE Pennsylvania. Ordinarily I was planning on leaving on Christmas Day around noon after seeing my son.
  6. Volvoxc70. But I'm disabled and if I get stuck I can't walk in the snow. And I have to take I-84 which has alot of road construction. I might leave early, but then I wouldn't see my son for Christmas Day.
  7. BDL at 62F, so the record has been broken. 60F was the old one from 1971.
  8. Personally hoping for good weather Christmas Eve and day because I'm driving 200 miles to my sister. Bad weather means staying at home alone.
  9. One of the original advertisements for Powder Ridge has me in the picture. Taken by my friend in January of 1992. They took it off the internet, probably from Alpinezone.
  10. We came into California from Las Vegas. I wanted to take my son to Yosemite Park but Tuolumne Pass was closed. Because of this, we had to take Sonora Pass into the central valley, Yosemite and return. For me the greatest one day temperature difference is at Mammoth Mountain and going back to Las Vegas via Death Valley. 28F at Mammoth and 113F in Death Valley.
  11. I visited Mammoth Mountain for late Spring skiing June 6-9th of 2006. This was after a record snowfall Winter with 578" which has since been broken. Mammoth parking lot April and June of 2006. Sonora Pass, lower mountain base depth, Mammoth Mountain. Mammoth Mountain is one of the most Isolated major resorts in the United States. This is because the only way to Mammoth Mountain in the Winter is via 395 from LA. All southern Sierra Mountain passes are closed. Or the long way via Lake Tahoe.
