  1. bunkers right motions on these storms in sample hodographs are around 80 mph, due to the NE motion that means you'd have to drive 100-105 mph on N/S and then E/W roads to keep up with the storm.
  2. Threat expanded eastward and 5% tor added. It’ll be essentially impossible to keep up with these storms so anyone trying to chase will get one chance to intercept

  18. lol the all time December record max is 65 for Madison and this model has us hitting that at noon on Wednesday with a couple more hours of heating/advection.
  19. It's been a slow start to the season but a dynamic shortwave trough looks to move through the central US causing lee cyclogenesis and Colorado low moving NE through the sub. Euro(and to a lesser extent the GFS)has been consistent showing a band of double digit snow totals to the NW of the low center and has been trending slightly SE with each. Right now the highest risk seems to be to the north of the WI/IL border. At the same time a potentially substantial severe risk will be occurring in the southern parts of our subforum.

  24. I would say 24", we've gotten some totals of around 20" in the area with storms before and that's with imperfect storms so I think a 2 footer is reasonable.
