  1. By mid month yes. Not on 8/1 at least to me. Some of our hottest days have been recorded in the 8/1-10 period. Normal temperatures start dropping by the 10th. The sun angle today is similar to mid May which I consider high albeit with much cooler temperatures.
  2. I will be shocked if we aren’t quite summery by late next week. Now you may say the back by them is broken but do you say that about winter on your birthday? More or less equivalent in opposite seasons.
  3. I’m hoping to spend some time over the winter away from New England but I say that every year and never go. I don’t like Florida but I’d consider Arizona, Hawaii, or maybe even Australia for the effect of summer in our winter. I’m ok with winter as long as we don’t get ice. The problem is even good snow years yield to ice in the freeze thaw cycle and if I can’t walk at least 5 miles a day I’m in danger of losing my mind.
  4. We turned off the ac and opened windows today for the first time since forever it seems.
  5. Always a bit sad to have days noticeably shorten and nights cool. August looks to start out nice but WAR looms and my guess is we’re quite summery by mid month or sooner.
  6. Taking from obs 1/2 mile away. 3.45 now.
  7. Been on and off downpours now getting into another round. No thunder, just heavy rain on and off since around 1.
  8. BOS hit 90 today. If it makes it tomorrow it will be a 3 day heatwave fwiw.
  9. Never. I go out completely zinced up and generally avoid any time before 6pm. I walk tons at night though.
  10. BOS high today was 91. Honestly it was brutal with dews in the 70s. I’m ready for a break.
  11. Looks like next week is much less humid with AOB temperatures before mr. WAR asserts itself moving into the 2nd week of August and beyond.
  12. I know. I happen to be a follower of wx since age 6-70 years ago. Normal max hasn’t changed much in any season. But dews are higher. When I was a kid, dews 60-65 were considered humid, 65-70 very humid, and 70+ oppressive. 70+ was quite rare in NJ in my growing up years.
