  1. The 925s delay snow here until later Tuesday but once it happens it may really go to town for a while. I am totally clueless on what to expect given the uncertainty but it does remind me of December 1992.
  2. Yeah the 2+ qpf is pike area as the northern extent at hour 108 but you’re still getting 1.5 with better snow and still going at that hour.
  3. Uncle is too warm at 925 for snow in a large area until hour 96. Now perhaps it collapses around hour 91-92 resulting in much more snow and I can’t get the data drilled down to that level.
  4. Exactly/I’m not a retention guy and no one need be in mid March.
  5. Fast melt as it warms up after this is done for a few days.
  6. That is truly an epic cmc run albeit the model is subpar. Gfs though wasn’t far from that.
  7. Cmc also. Complete annihilation of just about all of sne. Tonight the low swings we’ll east before slinging back and that’s the difference.
  8. Gfs is getting pretty far east before the tug. Snowing hard in most of AEMATT 84 hours
  9. I always stopped my day in the late afternoon to check out dgex.
  10. Every once on a while it nailed the pattern-just enough to keep us looking at it. RIP dgex.
  11. We used to have the Dgest or something like that which extended the NAM to 192 hours at 18z. That was kind of nuts.
  12. I think around 3/3/72 we had a system like this that rudimentary models of 51 years ago had pummeling us with 12+. The low moved up over ORH, the Berks got nailed, mslp was 28.50 or so and we had a lot of rain. This storm is giving me ptsd of that event. 6pm Bob Copeland shows the low near the NY bight saying “rain is racing up the coast”
  13. If that were the case we’d never have had big December nor’easters with heavy snow but we do and with warmer waters.
  14. Remember the old TWC commercials and when they showed snow they alluded to feeling like a child again. Ray you nailed it and that’s exactly it-beautifully said!
