  1. That’s why I’m waiting. But as of now I’m concerned. As an aside, we had a great snow dump in the first week of December 1957. My 11th bday party was a mid week lunch (kids went home for lunch then) with darkening skies and temperatures around 40. 13.3 inches later….
  2. People are deluding themselves if they think the ssta distribution is not worrisome now. It could change of course but by September we’re almost out of time so it better be fast.
  3. Another warm humid day. Dews drop but temperatures rise beyond Monday this week. Good luck Vermont!
  4. It’s not getting any better. Still a month or 2 before I issue a full ratter call.
  5. WAR usually really flexes towards late July/August. Seems a bit early. I’m wondering how hot it can get? Back to the ORH dew discussion yesterday-it DID feel less humid but hot yesterday in Worcester when I was there. Today I’m at 84/72 while 9 miles ne at BOS it’s 75/72.
  6. Long and fast walk. Sweat pouring. Shower and fresh undies for sleep for sure and thank goodness for central a/c!
  7. Perfect weather in my view. We walked mid day around Scranton, PA and then drove back to Boston. Waze routed us up the thruway via the pike’s west extension south of Albany. Anything to avoid the insane traffic west of Hartford! Several little pop up storms. In clear air car read upper 80s to 90 even at 1500k. Soft mid summer night-time for a walk.
  8. Unsettled in Pittsburgh. At the Andy Warhol Museum-cool place!
  9. Honestly 2009 was the worst summer I’ve experienced since returning east in 1991.
  10. Humid and warm here in Wilkes Barre. We have some els here but it certainly feels like summer.
  11. I was thinking that sounds like a week’s worth of food.
  12. It’s not pessimism-it’s a lack of any reason RIGHT NOW to be overly optimistic. Let’s see what things look like in 2 months.
  13. Showers and mild tstorms overnight in the wee hours. Now the sun is breaking out at times. Summery for sure. Heading to Pittsburgh over the weekend into next week before returning home late week. Better storms likely both en route and in one of my absolute favorite cities.
  14. I have to admit that looking at the distribution increases my pessimism for the upcoming winter. Nevertheless it can change and we're still in June so I would not forecast anything just yet but man if this continues we can have a pretty wet but too warm for much snow winter.
  15. You’re probably 10+ years younger than me. My joints haven’t felt this good since last summer.
  16. Misery most it’s not. To me that’s cold. Maybe cloudy and thundery some days but it will not at all be chilly.
  17. You could feel the change tonight for sure. The rising dews are keeping temperatures not too far from their daytime highs. A tad muggy feeling but still quite comfortable. Last night without ac for a spell.
  18. Sad indeed and hubris is the operative word here. But I agree we that we we’re hoping they’d be successfully rescued.
  19. You guys will complain bitterly about 86/71 days. Certainly not a record but 5 ply.
