I came back from shopping which had the NAM open to 9 hours when I got in the car. Meanwhile I had peeked at srefs (wtf is wrong with me!) and noted the bump. By the time I got home I saw the NAM and started laughing. I am taking my daughter to the airport for a 6am flight. We’ll leave around 4:15am. I probably could get her there in time to make the flight if I leave at 4:30. I’m staying up until I get back home. Probably asleep by 6, hopefully sleep until around 1. Should hopefully be snowing when I get up for good. I trained last night by staying up for the 6z NAM and getting into bed at 4:15am.

John, I grew up in NNJ during some epic times featuring March of 1956, February and March of 1958, March of 1960 and of course the trifecta of 1960-61. However, leaving for LA in November of 1976 returning in July 1991 cost me 78-a bitter pill I will take to my grave. You’re in a great spot now with enough elevation to add plenty to the sea level climo. Where did you grow up?

I don’t anyone has a choice but 2012-13 high snow but mild winter is ideal for me. 2/8/13 began with marginal temperatures but who wouldn’t take 2-3 feet again? Same for 3/8/13 but snow more like 18-24

I think officially it’s over 99% to go. -
We’re probably close age. I remember as a hungry snow weenie around age 11 waiting for the forecast which included 2 additional days and when you listened and heard “the outlook for Saturday and Sunday is sunny and cold Saturday. Increasing cloudiness and continued cold Sunday indicating a chance. That was good enough back then. But then again the internet opened us up to a world that revealed so many just like us. Before the net we had this “weird obsession with weather”

I do remember during severe obsession days checking off first the dgex aka defect, then the srefs a few hours later, then NAM etc. back in the early 2000s euro only ran a 12z suite, few had access to anything other than course maps in 24 hour intervals. You weenies have no idea how hard it will be for you to get sober!

Well if you just look at Boston and metro west, 1993-94 was a major all timer. Certainly in my top 3 experienced as is 2014-15 and probably 1960-61. 1995-96 goes to #4 due to the spectacular melts-lasting for weeks.
