  1. 2/7/03. 1-2 forecast with a foot verifying on a nowcast.
  2. Boulder is higher vs Denver so I think it’s a lot more common. Boulder averages 85 inches of snow per winter.
  3. It’s all about NAO (sorry Tip but sometimes it’s the difference between fun and frustration). Had last years NAO cooperated we’d have been a lot happier in April covid notwithstanding.
  4. Didn’t euro seasonal have a good winter forecast for last winter at this time last year?
  5. I had a dream that the first snow happened....it was a happy dream. It was a snow squall that had brief low visibility and then cleared out. It was sometime in November in the dream, it’s coming!
  6. Thank you for a detailed well thought out forecast!
  7. In November 2014, I flew to Denver for a meeting with temperatures in the 70s. 2 days later -13.
  8. Early autumn feel today. Warm enough to be comfy though.
  9. Yeah that’s how it used to be here but covid brought enough resources so they can do it normally this time. Gonna be surreal not having all these devices that required the security of Fort Knox...lol.
  10. Thanks Jeff! That’s my first thought. Although I do have this job that may be up to 16 hours/week so not completely unbound but 2 days on/5 days off seems doable especially since part of the 2 days is from home.
  11. Did they find your replacement for you to train? Mine feel into place and for the rest of the month I’m transitioning. Congrats!
  12. lol....my parents did-dad was thrilled-for real. He was a weenie at heart.
  13. 15 more work days as a full timer. Out the door 9/30/2020 unless the national Retirement Center drops the ball...lol. I've been promised.
  14. I was there with 2 other guys and we put the blanket down and out of nowhere a young lady in a bikini stood on our blanket. No interest in us-just too hot to walk on the sand. Growing up until that summer it would get hot but that one was off the scale! It seems more frequent to mimic those conditions in NJ lately.
  15. Believe me that's the first thing that came to mind! You and I went big and people laughed at us. Who's laughing now......
  16. I dunno....I'm kind of ready for a direct hit. I immensely enjoyed Carol Edna, and Hazel in 1954. Hazel had very little rain but winds gusting 100+ even with that inland track (this is in NNJ. Seeing the tops of railroad wire polls blowing like tumbleweed down the street as a young lad going on 8 was superb!
  17. September look.....what do you think? https://www.ospo.noaa.gov/Products/ocean/sst/anomaly/
  18. I went to asbury park on 7/3/66 Sand was ridiculously hot....loved it!
  19. August is over in 75 minutes. Moving on...
  20. Being that you’re relatively new to this forum-here’s the origin of ratter. A man now (if he is still among us) in his mid 70s who I knew in college used the term “that blows dead rats”. I used it as a descriptor of a winter event that went bad or perhaps a pattern-maybe you remember-it was before subforums and you’re one of the originals. Anyway, the term ratter stuck. Just as “storm cancel” is courtesy of blizzard24, ratter is from my college days 50-55 years ago. Anyway, I had one beer and felt compelled to explain...lol.
