  1. No pig=less angst...and a polar opposite from November 2011.
  2. 1947-48 was a very big snow winter.
  3. I think the zoom format has the potential for widespread participation especially with something on the horizon. Kind of like return to mirc with video. We should try to get the NNE/SNE crews together on the same call.
  4. Yes and I absolutely am convinced (without hard science yet) that this so called 3rd wave has mutated to a less virulent strain. With that said, some of the numbers about the stretching and overwhelming of resources are very concerning.
  5. The main concern is for their older family members. We went to Vermont 2 weeks ago to visit our daughter. We demanded she test within 72 hours of our visit and we did as well. In my part time gig, seeing the writing on the wall I opted out of F2F care and am remote a day/week. If they told me no soap, I’d have said nice knowing you. But I readily admit I have this option and can easily survive without working at all. Many people in our age cohort are not so lucky.
  6. In the hottest areas. ICU units at or above capacity in places all over the country but mostly in the areas with little margin of error. There also are shortages of PPE still which is kind of appalling. I’m aware of issues all over the place based on conversations with many former coworkers.
  7. For the next one everyone find old snow pictures from your childhood.
  8. >80,000 cases today in the USA. Systems getting overwhelmed in many areas. Next 2-4 weeks will give us a good idea on how this plays out.
  9. I’ll be on towards the last hours...say around 9ish unless I get home earlier.
  10. Kevin, you conveniently left the follow up off of your post.
  11. I think Will’s rule refers to December ninas.
  12. Yeah the pike region did ok. Once you got >10 miles south it was less by a good margin.
  13. I clocked about 60 inches. December was amazing and January and February each had periods of winter.
  14. We did amazingly well I 2007-08 considering that shitty look.
  15. Watching leaves floating down on a superb late autumn day. I have some work to do-outside on the patio table today!
  16. You’d rather have it further East so if it’s in the Aleutian area it better go way poleward and hopefully some luck.
  17. You can already see the tendency in the ensembles to push the poleward Aleutian ridge. The only question is whether it holds and also whether it migrates East or west.
  18. I think a continuation of October for the first half-around 1-2F above.
  19. Define the departure to fulfill the torch categorization.
