Euro almost always overdoes long range cold. The only exception in my memory is the extreme cold that gave BOS its coldest reading in 65 years in February 2023. Euro nailed that from a week or more out.
Euro snows on us Boxing Day. But in the less clowny range, I kind of like where we stand right now on the models for next weekend. Let's see what happens when the lead wave hits NOAM today and tonight.
Some random thoughts….
I’ve been googling vacations to Hawaii of late.
ineedsnow has gone from fun to borderline insufferable.
Life is actually more enjoyable when I’m not impeded by snow and/or obsessing about it.
See you all at 18z…
I specifically that 1969 storm. It started as 6-10” of snow that was erased in the deluge after the changeover. Even though the numbers are ok for 1969-70 it was a frustrating winter especially for me in my first year in Boston following the epic February the previous winter.
About 3 inches of rain. Wind was pedestrian for the most part with power maintained which is good because I had to use the treadmill vs outdoors tonight and I need electricity for that.
