  1. Regarding Alzheimer’s amyloid plaques. There are people riddled with them who do not exhibit cognitive decline. Conversely there are some brains relatively plaque free and the person is fully gorked. A lot of unanswered questions still. A lot of dementia in my family but so far I’m good enough cognitively.
  2. Lol. Not to quibble but the very cold winter was 1976-77 so unless you mean April 77… 1975-76 was pretty ordinary per my memory.
  3. June will finish above normal. Heat returns in a sustained way post Father’s Day. This is impressive for so early.
  4. Early and often AOA 90. That’s how we do summer. Major scorcher en route June-August
  5. East coast is getting the brunt along with northern plains. Here in Chicago warm but nothing noteworthy with yesterday upper 80s and today overcast but muggy upper 70s.
  6. If nothing else this season validates Cora’s ability as a leader.
  7. What a bullshit called strike in the bottom of the 9th! But now is the time for you to have fun…
  8. New definition of golden shower?
  9. Looks too chilly Friday and Saturday. Glad we still Chicago.
  10. What is your masking practice now?
  11. It hit 100 at BOS during that period in 1995 for the first time in a long time-maybe 20 years (hot Saturday 1975).
  12. I read Lucifers Hammer way back when-maybe 35-40 years ago. Great read but scary possibilities!
  13. The serving of weenies literally cannot be made up.
  14. Well it’s been anything but coc with the cold and wet. Once the heat breaks it should be 70s+ still which I can live with
  15. Looks like it’s clear at BOS. Let the fun begin but what a pre paid price!
  16. Yesterday was an overcast day here in Chicago but it cleared after dark and today promises to be the beginning of the climb up to heat. But even with an overcast day it was hovering around 70 yesterday afternoon which will likely happen in sne as well I would think.
  17. Cheer up everyone! Back to shorts and tee in Chicago. Still a tick or 2 south of 70 but it’s warm enough. Heat on the way
  18. It’s over. But the mask thing dies hard. Stores here in Chicago have signs that say masks optional if you’re vaccinated but still nearly 100% masks indoors and nearly 100% maskless outside. I walked into a Starbucks maskless the other day and decided to ask the lady at the counter what would make her comfortable. She said you’re fine without a mask. My SIL is masked and frightened. She asked me if I was worried. I said I’m following the science. She said what about those deaths in bum****? My response was she was more likely going to die from an accident on the drive over...and that’s the truth among vaccinated people. Still, I encourage people to work with their personal comfort level. We’ll know soon enough as we open wide across the country.
