  1. Nice day today-feels crisp. Days of de-skunking continue.
  2. http://jasminereedtheauthor.weebly.com/learn-about-the-author.html I enjoyed the visit.
  3. Climo for 10/16: CAR: 54/36 BTV: 59/42 BGR: 59/38 CON: 61/38 ORH: 59/42 BOS: 62/48 PVD: 64/45 BDL: 64/43 BDR: 65/49 NYC: 65/52
  4. Wait you expect it to wait till May? When has that ever happened?
  5. So you’re saying day after day mid 70s after the cool down?
  6. I’m putting on the ac tonight but mainly to de skunk the environment. Doggie got sprayed-3 hour cleanup all outdoors. Don’t want to smell that tonight
  7. Definitely a much cooler pattern although certainly not cold yet. Starting next week.
  8. I don’t see any 77-80 coming after the next few days.
  9. The closest I came to flipping the a/c back on was last night but by the time we went to bed at 3AM it was actually cool in the bedroom. Upstairs windows stay open. Haven’t used a/c in maybe 3 weeks. And we use it all summer.
  10. Walked fast from 11-midnight. An evening more typical for a month ago…
  11. Already up to weak territory…. Typically these ENSO states peak in another month or 2 so it won’t be easy to go stronger than low end moderate.
  12. Yes! Just planted another holly bush along the back property line. The joy of digging in New England rocky soil...lol. Gorgeous day. Shorts and tees all week. Euro keeps it chilly till Thursday next week.
  13. Most guidance is a few ticks cooler and night time 35-40 with days 55-60 will likely warrant it. Sun is worth crap these days.....doesn’t even heat the upstairs much like high summer. If we get an overcast house stays cold. Anyway, when you flip on the heat you acknowledge there’s not further need for a/c. We haven’t had it on in weeks. All about sun angle. Long range doesn’t look terribly warm tbh.
  14. Kind of bummed but it looks like we flip on the heat for the beginning of next week.
  15. Despite the warmth the leaves are changing-probably peak in Boston inside of a week which seems dead nuts normal.
  16. I’m good for Funky’s. Can’t do the first 2 weeks of November but can do the last half. Would prefer to avoid thanksgiving weekend but could do Wednesday evening if that’s what it comes to.
  17. Much closer to normal next week-and it looks like changes are starting globally. We'll see where we end up...
  18. Bingo! I remember putting in a major system at age 32.....took 14 hours and I asked myself why.....
  19. Well you can do many things. If it is enjoyable doing it makes sense. If it’s a pain and not how you would want to spend your spare time, ask yourself the value of your time. Ultimately it comes down to affordability. If I could afford it I’d have a limo take me to my private jet waiting on the tarmac but I can’t.
  20. That’s what I was referring to! Glaringly different this year it seems. Thanks Will!
  21. A dramatic difference between this year and 2010-11 in the graphic Steve posted is the ssta off of Newfoundland. I forget what that is called but the late Jack, a founder of SV correlated the winter with those anomalies in May. In any case, it’s glaringly different and MAY be signaling a ratter-not sure....great snow winter Ninas vs this year are glaring in that area.
  22. Are you referring to the stratosphere? How would AN SST affect that?
  23. The reference started casually. When I was in college (my graduation from undergraduate college was 1969), one of the guys in the dorm when referring to something distasteful said “This blows dead rats”. I used the term for one of the low snow winters on these boards maybe 15-16 years ago. Later I would refer to that type of winter as a ratter and an internet wx weenie meme was born. I’m proud that people use it-most don’t realize it came from me but time to blow my own horn....
