I guess it depends. We bought this house for nearly 100k over asking 7 years ago. We’ve picked up 600k equity since. And we were able to because we sold our other home for an absurd price over asking.
This town has been ridiculously high for decades. There isn’t land to build on. It’s surprising given how much remote work there is but tons of health workers here close to the big medical centers and many with high enough income to afford it.
This is a national crisis actually. Home ownership has been a cornerstone and I wonder whether or not someone with no help from parents and modest income can do it in MA. Young families on my street are moving into $2m homes. How is that possible if you’re not from a wealthy family?
Week of 4/12 onward definitely looks nice. Hopefully that holds. We’ll be in Chicago that week arriving late Monday the 11th. If a rogue bd shows up hopefully Chicagoland can avoid it.
An all timer for sure! One of my things is to go to different concerts of these old school guys. Heading to Lake Tahoe to see Jackson Browne in September. Seger is all done touring it seems.
Looks to start a bit bumpy but there's some evidence that the 2nd half is really nice with AOA temperatures. I suspect typical crap first half of the month.
Cold with full sun the last few days of March is impressive. A lot of missing data on the big climate sites but I’m surmising most finish mildly above for temperatures in March. 2012 did not walk in this year....
When o was moving east from LA, I stopped for a coffee at a McDonald’s in Needles, CA with the temperature that mid July 1991 day being 115. Standing outside drinking it I got my share of looks!
Morning pee run and I noted snow otg. Back to sleep 2 hours and gone by the time I got up. Cold but with early spring sun angle it doesn’t feel all that bad. Did not use my heaviest coat. I’ve been saving it before bringing it for its annual cleaning. May need it tonight though.
Very few would save $20-30/week. Our taxes aren’t high enough. Costco still under $4/gallon. Saving $20-30/ week would need a person using 100 gallons/week. At 20 mpg that’s 2000 miles/week!
A lot of posts validating why I hate spring. Roll to Father’s Day. By then it’s more reliably nice. I have refused to go to a night game here before 6/15. The one time I broke down was 2014 when a Boston/Oakland game in late April was played with me in full winter gear with temperatures in the mid 30s and misery mist.
It’s weird that democratic governors are pushing this. There are some exceptions. For example VT. Moderate republican governor wants to do it but democratic legislators say no.. VT is a pretty high tax state with a lot of citizens feeling the pinch. It’s not like one could drive less there....
