  1. Finally looks like a good snowfall here, temperature down to 32.7.
  2. My snow rate is starting to get better. My temperature is slowly starting to drop again, down to 33.1.
  3. What I need is some heavier snow to drop the temp. about 1 or 2 degrees and then I can get some good accumulations. Right now 33.3 and light snow. very small flakes.
  4. Temperature here holding at about 33.3 degrees with light to moderate snow. Maybe 3/4 of an inch.
  5. I think that band has a lot to do with the colder temperatures in those areas.
  6. At this point, even though coastal locations were suppose to get the most, the fact that coastal temps are near or above freezing and inland is below, those amounts inland are adding up much faster.
  7. The suns rays really make some difference. My house faces south and my driveway is wet. Across the street the houses face north and their driveways are all snow covered.
  8. Some of you guys to my west and north are way ahead of me in accumulation, so far anyway. I have about a 1/2 inch
  9. 33 degrees here down from 37 before the snow started. Light to moderate snow, about a 1/2 inch.
  10. Nice to see some blue sky and sun again.
  11. This is a little off topic but it can be argued for the amount of recorded hurricanes today compared to years ago. Today they include storms that would not have been named years ago, one prime example is this past season when a sub tropical low was given a name and it was off the coast of Portugal.
  12. Good point, we may never know. I suppose you could say that about almost any measurement from years ago and some from today.
  13. OK the news said an amateur. Not surprised if the news got it wrong. Anyway it does not look like it will stand. The original record apparently was, in all places, Cape May.
  14. Just saw on the news that someone reported over 35 inches in Mt. Arlington N.J. which is a state record. It looks like it won't hold. Someone from the climatologist office of N.J. went their this morning and measured 22 inches.
  15. I'm not doubting anyone who posts snow reports but that was a hard storm to measure snow. The wind was relentless yesterday afternoon blowing the snow all over. My estimate here is about 11-14 inches. You guys in New Jersey really had some big totals, getting under those strong bands for hours.
  16. Judging by that my 10 inch guess is pretty close. I don't know how you can get a real accurate measurement with all this wind and drifting.
  17. I just had a wind gust that stayed above 35 mph for about 10 seconds. That may not sound like much but that doesn't happen much on my home anemometer. The anemometer is 33 ft in the air but like most neighborhoods their are trees off in the distance to keep wind speeds down some.
  18. Light snow here but the wind has really picked up, gusting to 40mph at my house. I would estimate some 10 inches of snow
  19. Right now this seems to be a central N.J. to mid Hudson Valley storm, including eastern Pa.
  20. Just came in from using snowblower. Hard to say how much is out there but I would say 6-9 inches somewhere and snowing very hard. Wind gusting to about 35mph and temp. is 29.5
