  1. Muttontown, the cold spot of Nassau County, already down to 29.7
  2. Another quiet wind night creating vast temperature differences from place to place.
  3. Baldwinsville NY just NW of Syracuse received about 10 inches of Lake Affect snow. Meanwhile feels like winter outside, breezy and 37 degrees.
  4. Would not be surprised to see some teens tonight in the coldest locations.
  5. Maybe some flurries this weekend around the area.
  6. 26 degrees this morning. Coldest so far this season.
  7. 28 degrees this morning, coldest of the season.
  8. Had my 7th straight night below 40 last night with a low of 37.1. Beautiful daytime highs with 67 yesterday and maybe higher today.
  9. December 22 http://www.nrcc.cornell.edu/services/blog/2021/10/21/index.html
  10. Yea the radiational cooling nights create some big differences in temperatures in very short distances.
  11. Yea it seems the mid 40s are right on the water at both north and south shores, I am still 34.
  12. Quite a range in temperatures on Long Island. Recording stations on Weatherlink show temperatures at the Long Island Sound stations and the south shore water locations in the low to mid 40s while the middle of the Island has temps in the 20s to mid 30s. Central Park appears to be the only major city from Boston to D.C. that stayed at 40 degrees.
  13. A little milder this morning, earlier low of 32.5 now up to 36. The opposite of the past 2 mornings when it was getting colder until about 7:30.
  14. Just went outside and noticed a high thin cloud cover that is preventing a quicker drop in temps.
  15. OK. I just never saw a forecast predicting that much snow.
  16. Big range in temperatures on these clear, cold nights with no wind. Nearby airports still in the mid 40s, while local stations, such as mine, already dropping into the 30s. Muttontown in northern Nassau, already in the mid 30s.
  17. So what happened, the forecast was for feet of snow and instead they got feet of rain? If so, that would have made some snow lovers pretty upset.
  18. How is this for a snowy forecast: https://www.foxweather.com/weather-news/alaskans-brace-for-a-record-12-feet-of-snow-in-two-days
  19. I am not in the frost advisory for tonight but we will probably have plenty. I had frost last night.
