Probably tomorrow night a freeze watch will be issued for Suffolk and not Nassau, even though the rural areas of Nassau will be just as cold as Suffolk. This happens every year.

Hurricane Hazel passing well west of our area gave some in our area the highest wind speeds recorded, including NYC. That period from the mid 1950s to the early 1960s is arguably the worst hurricane time in this area.
