Yes it is windy. Many airports and open locations had gusts in the 40s and 50s.

Rain has slowed here, almost stopped. Looks like some heavy stuff to move thru my area in about an hour, now south of Long Island.

There is little doubt that we are getting milder. However, I don't believe we are not going to see good winters still, some seem to be implying that. The above records really show we were due for a snow drought of sorts.

Nice snowstorm for Upstate NY and Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Some areas receiving over 2 feet. NYC hit the freezing mark again last night. My low was 29.

My peak gust is only 36mph but I have trees that interfere with a WNW wind. It sounds more like gusts in the 40s.

I was living in Connecticut at the time. You could look out at Long Island Sound and see nothing but ice.
