  1. Pretty wild how quickly winter ended. Thought we’d see another period to track, but it’s looking winter is wraps at this point. Gotta root for an El Niño next year.
  2. Chilly day, but the clear skies are a win. The March sun is legit, too…noticing it while driving.
  3. Yes. The drought is not a fluke when looking at the general storm track the last few years which has included a lot of ns systems scooting to the north and southern sliders (or so it seems)…and the ones that are primarily w-e come with downsloping and all that fun stuff.
  4. The cold air clouds are rolling through now. It’s impressive how such a relatively low mountain chain like the Catoctin’s can enhance the cloud deck. It happens frequently when the wind shifts out of the nw…La Nina’s favorite pattern.
  5. I want to say winter is a wrap, but March can provide sneaky events. With that said, there is absolutely nothing to track right now except the midweek t-storm potential, cherry blossoms and March Madness seeding.
  6. …I should add both times were from hoops (pushing off on my right foot). But yea, getting older and wear/tear is a thing. It’s all about prep and recovery.
  7. Yea it’s weird…both times I felt a pull/tear feeling, but both times it’s healed fairly quickly. The feeling of a rock in my calf has subsided after a few days. I have noticed a bit of a weakness in my Achilles over the last year (oddly can notice it if doing pushups I guess from the stretching) and that’s not a game I want to play, so I’m gonna take it slower getting back this time.
  8. I picked an annoying week to strain/tear my calf (or soleus/whatever) for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. Googling calf tears and seeing that it's a common injury in middle aged men isn't helping matters. I need to get back to 50/50 biking/hoops...at least. Otherwise, after a predominantly chilly/cold winter, these temps have been welcome.
  9. Ok, my wrist will get slapped for this...won't be the first time... I'm kind of a centrist, tbh...left leaning, but both sides go too far at times. That said, these are not good people running the country at the moment. They preach individual freedoms unless it's something they don't believe in. This is an objective take...there's nothing to really debate and, frankly, not worth the time and energy. Trust me, approximately half my fam (maybe 40%) are Trumpers. There's absolutely no getting through to them. Unfortunately, the majority of these types of people have very little humility or shame. You can still love them (as family and friends) and enjoy their company, and even learn a few things from them, but it is what it is. Just gotta go out and vote, and speak loud and clear for what you believe in. In other news, Crab Five is a great name for the Terps. They're not a deep team, but they're a nice break from the Wizards. Also, this week's weather has been kind of awesome.
  10. Today is less than 10/10...though the latest sat loop is inspiring.
  11. March is going to be strong...possible snow window to track before spring is incoming, cherry blossoms, March Madness...I'm getting hyped typing this.
  12. I don't think it's about model worshipping...it's just part of the game that we play. Why do people watch sports knowing they have no control over the outcome? Because it's not just the outcome we enjoy, it's the process...and this thread is specifically fueled by opportunities that models are attempting to show. It's really not any deeper than that.
  13. What’s going on in here? Got hyped because I saw a string of posts and ended up reading that psu is taking a break and, of course, 53 is kvetching about the inaccuracy of longterm models. Let’s cut the bs…is it gonna snow again or not?
  14. Today's weather is award-winning level.
  15. Looks like clouds are breaking up to the west. Maybe we can get an afternoon temp spike.
  16. I've only been glossing over the models recently, but wow...a whole lot of nothing showing up. Will clearly need to get through this week before there's anything worthwhile to track.
  17. It’s not a fluke. This area is showing to be very prone to droughts without an active southern stream and the lack of clippers able to make it south of our latitude is a thing as well. I also don’t even remember the last time we had a legit coastal storm. Did we even have a nor’easter this year?
  18. I could see it snowing again. There’s been a slide of transient cold highs dropping in from Canada all winter. Time that with the jet stream lifting north in March and you gotta think another tracking opp is likely…unless it isn’t.
  19. Not surprised, I was thinking today that the biggest issue this winter, at least for the northern crew, was a similar issue we’ve faced here the last couple years…not enough precip with storm tracks either too far north or too far south. There’s an obvious lack of phased TN valley tracks and coastal storms in recent years.
  20. Unbelievable weather today. Just biked little Bennett. I’m kinda out of shape and patchy muddy sections made me work twice as hard. I’m still cool with another snowstorm, but think I’m ok with it not being a blizzard. Save that for our El Niño year. But if it does decide to blizzard I will see you at the 0z euro.
  21. Majestic start to the day. Forecast indicates high clouds coming and going, but the current satellite loop is inspiring. Definitely getting some spring fever and very much ready for the milder weather this week. Maybe the following week can produce some tracking opps.
  22. When I first starting drinking the good shit after you, Mappy, and Chill recommended Eagle Rare, I tried Rowan’s Creek and thought it was too spicy. For some reason, I’m liking it now…guess my palate has advanced lol. Also, Mazel tov on retirement.
  23. Today’s weather was cold, the wind was in my face at times, but the sun was inspiring. I’m hyped about getting a week of milder weather before the next (and possibly last) phase of winter tracking.
  24. My winter gut is, too. I’m not opposed to warmer weather at this point so I can get more cardio in. I’ve got one more snowstorm left, but very open to the upcoming “relatively” milder stretch.
  25. My nephew sent a few pics from the snow magnet of Va Beach. Right around 10" per the ruler. They absolutely dominated this storm.
