I’m insanely jealous that DC and the mid-Atlantic region are about to get an obscene amount of snow while we get jack squat. It doesn’t bother me when the NE gets snow but it really bothers me when the mid-Atlantic region gets some. I don’t know why though. Yes, I’m petty and bitter.

It sounds like we are pretty close! We are just a few miles from the Durham County line in NW Wake County and according to my neighbor we got a little over 2.5”. Of course we are out of the country so our kids had to watch the snow falling from our security cameras!

Why is it that I’m in beautiful Turks and Caicos but I would rather be in Raleigh right now? I’m on the beach just watching the snow through my ring camera.

So happy for everyone in southern Wake County because you guys were due but what’s going on with northern Wake County? Still raining? Out of the country so I’m lurking from a distance!

Still learning so please be easy on me but when the temps are above freezing don’t you need low humidity? It’s been rapidly rising over the last couple hours in Raleigh so I’m confused.

No, I think the Mid Atlantic did have one in January IIRC. I’m not going to call this a snowstorm quite yet. There needs to be some measureable snow on the ground first.

I’m not going to lie. I am really bitter about the snow the MA forum is getting now. They have complained all winter but yet today is the second overperformer they have had this week. If I hear one more poster in that forum complain about having a crappy winter I’m going to lose my mind. We never have overperformers here.

You aren’t kidding. Happy for the MA but dang, can’t we for once get a storm that overperforms like the one they are having now? Is that so much to ask?

Move RDU for many reasons but snow should definitely not be one of them. Chapel Hill and Durham typically do well but stay away from Wake County. We have been blanked a lot the past few years when everyone around us got a ton. There is a legit Wake County snow hole. This is the most snow I’ve gotten in NW Wake County since 2010. If you live in South Wake it’s even worse. Great place to live overall but for snow lovers it isn’t. I would totally share my snow with S Wake residents if I could!

While I love the look of the NAM I just don’t see it happening. I’m not going to be greedy. I’m more than happy with what we got today so I hope the people that got blanked today get it. Everyone needs to get in on the early holiday fun!

North Raleigh poster here. I’m prepared to watch Chapel Hill get 8” of snow while we get 1” of sleet and cold rain.

Very true but I just see that coming. I can’t remember the last time Wake County wasn’t on the snow/rain line. I always tell our kiddos to not get too excited about snow because I feel awful when we don’t get that much. Our son considers 1” of snow the best thing ever so for the most part he is easy to please.

Meh. I’m a bitter party of one. I love living in Raleigh and truly wouldn’t want to live anywhere else but I’m really tired of getting jack squat when it comes to snow. Charlotte getting more than us Wake County residents is a real WTF. I’m used to it for the Triad but Charlotte and upstate SC getting more? I’m convinced that we are just cursed when it comes to snow.
