  1. I’m in Northern Wake as well, so I feel your pain. My kids keep asking my what my weather page is saying, but I told them just to stop asking unless they were prepared for major disappointment.
  2. No kidding! That’s just flat out gross. This is the first storm we have had in years, and the now our forecasted totals are decreasing? Come on.
  3. I’m usually one to throw in the towel early and give up at the first sight of bad models, but not this time. RDU has been snow starved for way too long, so i’m going to do my best to keep being positive until it’s painfully obvious that it’s not going to work. Hopefully that won’t happen though.
  4. I remember that. We all are so snow deprived that I’m not giving up on this one just yet. There’s too much time. I might feel differently Thursday morning, but for now I’m going to stick with the belief that this storm will make a lot of us very happy.
  5. I hate that you’re probably right. I actually felt good about this one too! At this point I would be happy for a dusting.
  6. We’re about six miles NW of RDU. We took Leesville Rd. on the way home from Angus Barn tonight! Crossing my fingers that we finally get some snow!
  7. That was insane. We had friends come to our house from Fuquay to go sledding all day with our kids. It would be great if all of Wake County could cash in, but it is one big county.
  8. No kidding! We live about 30 minutes from Oxford. If I wasn’t knee deep in taking down Christmas decorations the other day, I would have driven up there and just sat at the Hardee’s and stared out the window looking like an idiot. I am so desperate for some snow, like everyone is!
  9. Has there ever not been such a huge gradient in RDU? We moved to North Raleigh very close to the Durham County line about 19 years ago and I have always been amazed at the difference in show totals in my backyard vs. friends who live in Knightdale/Fuquay. It’s insane how sharp and stressful that gradient is!
  10. Yes he does! I remember when I first joined the board and had questions he was always the first person to answer and was super helpful. Bummer about what happened to Cold Rain. I liked him.
  11. Long time member, but I usually just lurk because I typically don’t have much to contribute. I’m just trying to bring some positive mojo here, especially to my fellow RDU peeps. The last few years have been painful. I got so excited having sleet for 30 minutes yesterday. So pathetic. Anyways, here’s to all of us scoring big with this storm.
  12. The lightest of light snow falling in North Raleigh. I’m sure nothing is going to accumulate but it still is beautiful to watch fall!
  13. I love being in the bulls eye, but not six days out. That NW trend will not be kind to us.
  14. This is pure joy. Two of my teenagers playing in the snow past midnight.
  15. It’s coming down much heavier now. We must finally be getting it!
  16. Are you over by St. David’s? I hope that band is heading our way!
  17. It’s actually picked up here quite a bit. As long as we get enough so that our kiddos can go sledding I’m happy. I just love watching it fall!
  18. We’re about 15 minutes north of North Hills off of Six Forks and it’s pretty much a flizzard. Still beautiful but no accumulation. Is it the same where you are?
  19. The very, very, very light snow we had falling in North Raleigh for a little while has now stopped. Hopefully it’s going to get heavier later on.
  20. I’m a Carolina fan. After the butt kicking we got the other night there are a ton of “fire everyone” fans out there. It was a brutal loss though. Not as bad as possibly whiffing on this storm though.
