  1. Theoretical perfect and actual perfect are two different things. There is a cost-risk and human scheduling element involved. I'm highly skeptical Bear Creek will be open 1/1/2024.
  2. PA Ski instructors nightmare, Vermont is getting right before the holidays and we gave back most our man made snow with the rain storms... nothing cold enouugh to make substantial snow before new years either. Need at least 72 hours of below 32 degrees to make snow.
  3. This observation of LVblizzard matches my observations as well.
  4. Last night was a bit of an over performer for the setup-- Nice storm.
  5. Lol... Im more of a winter warlock guy myself:
  6. One of my favorite storms was an SECS early december storm... Dec 6th 2005.
  7. It is about as good a look we can get in November this far out. It will be interesting to see how it works out.
  8. Yeah, why talk about actual weather when we can talk abbout wenie runs...! lol It does have Ralph's attention, afterall three runs is a trend!
  9. Let's talk about frost before we talk about jumping in snow banks-- Its all about signs and indications. Best chance for first frost for me is Wednesday, Nov. 1.
  10. CMC has the first chance of frost 10/24 or 10/25. GFS says no chance until 10/31 and probably more like 11/4.
  11. Hoping the system for the weekend misses north. I am camping at French Creek. Is it sacreligious to root for a dry slot?
  12. Tulip Poplars and some pin oaks seem early, Black Walnut seems behind, sycamores and maples seem on time.
  13. This guy might have been right in my backyard on saturday... He had to get from spring city to French creek somehow. In my opinion their best chance to get him was when he was in longwood surrounded. Roads closed was pain getting to work this morning. Lovely weather to be a fugative.
  14. I was driving home from my new(ish) job in Thorndale in the thick of things and watched sparks fly at the intersection of rt. 113 and rt. 100. Impressive driving rain. Sometimes these line of storm systems don't work out for us.
  15. Thats evaportranspiration for you! What part of reading are you in ? Is the soil sandy?
  16. Lots of sticks (not live branches) down here in Pottstown. Perhaps we took the brunt? Don't know I slept through it.
  17. These are my old stomping grounds. I went to Oley HS right down the road from here. The Asst. Principal used to hang out here on americanwx no sure what his tag was though. I have some friends that live right by this intersection.
  18. Mt. Holly also has the responsibility to protect against the other outcome too. Something kicks up and drops 3-4 and then someone gets a surprise flash flood... thats a problem. Try not to spoil the weather-- its a nice day out and my yard is plenty damp this morning. Its going to take a bit for the La Nina enduced drought to attenuate. Forestry service still has fire risk set at high or extreme.
  19. Kind of weird weather. Kind of reminds me of down at the DE shore when you get a mild cold front.
  20. Sure, Philadelphia is a long ways away from North Chester and Southern Berks where I am though. Years that come to ming are 1999, 2002, and when our well dried up in 2006.
