All this talk of averages reminds me that the local mets mentioned boston is at 41" and we're only about 9 inches from normal. When did KBOS go to 50 for an average? Most of my life it has been about 40", maybe 43? Did the post 90s kick in?
Late winter storms are the best. Snow, followed by AN temps typically meaning melt off is fast and residual ice is rarely a problem. Longer days also meaning less work at night.
Big problem is the labor shortage. People don't talk about it but most of the contractors I know ( including me) have equipment sitting because of the lack of drivers and operators. It's only going to get worse, too.
