Kids “camping” in the backyard this weekend. Supposed to be tnite but the ground is still so awful i might make them wait till sunday night. The grass is finally drying out but having a bunch of kids laying in a tent all night? Dunno.
We pulled a guy out of his car on a road that in 07 woulda been probably 2-3’ higher than his roof. One of the few success stories around here with stream and culvert fixes.
Forgot about april of 07. That was the breaking point for a lot of the streams and culverts around here, that finally convinced local people that floyd wasnt a once in a lifetime flooding event. The spots that flooded in floyd and 03/07 faired much better this time.
Oh, you mean the spot where they spent millions to fix the flooding, and the best part of the work done was new barriers to put up everytime it drizzles cuz it still floods? That spot?
Yep, almost winter-like being just outside a deformation band. We’re getting into ridiculous rates in rockland, but it luckily only lasts a few minutes before we get back into the steady stuff.
I did it a week ago, was away for a few days. I legitimately cant remember the last time I had to stop mowing to clean out the underside of the mower in august. My grass looks like its May.
Just like winter, its fun reading back through the thread of the people who are too cool to believe certain models and “there is no way we’ll see even remotely close To those totals”.
still time for someone in the metro to get to double digits.
That line that just moved through rockland heading almost due south was probably the heaviest rain ive ever seen around here. Legitimately blinding rain, instantly flooded roads. Luckily it moved through quickly.
