  1. It's bound to happen sooner or later with these coastals. Mabey the GFS is on to something. DT said this last night: Wxrisk.com *** ALERT SEVERE LONG DURATION COASTAL LOW INCREASINGLY LIKELY SUNDAY 12/17 - MONDAY 12/18/ TUES 12/19*** /1 There is no doubt now that we are looking at a major East Coast Nor'easter on Sunday and Monday that is going to last in some places more than 48 hours in terms of its duration… and will bring at least another 2 to 5 inches in total rainfall from Georgia to Maine. The truth of the matter is that this event would be a huge East Coast snowstorm with only a few small changes to the setup. What I find encouraging about this is that unlike the last two or three years… in this late Autumn and early Winter e are getting frequent LOW pressure areas in the southern jet stream… coming out of the Deep South and the Gulf Coast and coming up the East Coast itself. So while you may be disappointed that this is actual rain versus Snow it is significant in that we are getting these Southern LOW pressure systems.
  2. The carpet and tile guys said last night, snow lovers would have to wait till next year for any snow.
  3. Rough could be an understatement, when it comes from him.
  4. Wxrisk.com epSnoordst17uti582fi7309c12350l2hmm9m4fth10c83f23355g3719hal · I cannot say this any stronger than this Anyone-- whether that person is a weather weenie... or weather Hobbyist ...or a Meteorologist -- and they are telling you that the winter is over OR that it will underperform because the 2nd half of DEC pattern change is not going to happen originally thought-- is not just an idiot. He /she is a fooking idiot.
  5. Sounds like your intentionally grounding us, or you giving up so early in the season, I guess we will have to wait for Blizz to post future snow maps to get us back on the field after that costly penalty.
  6. So, when is our next threat of wintry precipitation?
  7. 32 this morning and a half inch of snow on car and grass,
  8. I think we should grade the NWS-State College on winter event. Starting on this one today. Just to see how they fare.
  9. My son got an Ambient ws5000 and he got a temperature probe to put in the ground to monitor the ground temperature. Might be useful when snowstorms, sleet and freezing rain are forecast this winter. He's also transmitting his data to NWS in State College on some program he joined that's operated by NWS. Every 5 min data is transmitted to them
  10. I believe there are changes coming, but will it translate into big snows, winter storms and cold? Or will be left with change over storms and marginal temps? It's been quite awhile since most of us experienced true winter weather.
  11. I think you said it the best as anyone could have.
  12. Nws in State College had a great lightning capture last night. https://www.facebook.com/NWSStateCollege/videos/364427425966877
  13. We have 2 hanging baskets of miniature Petunia plants. There not in the best shape. But they are still blooming in December. They have endured numerous frosts and temps as low as 17 degrees. I never seen an annual do this before. All the other annuals succumbed to the frost. This must be one hardy species. Also the grass is still green here too!
  14. I have a feeling your gonna screw up the winter for the snow lovers back home here.
