Snowing heavy here in town. Its so windy its blowing sidways here in town starting to lay.
-
Yeah I think tonight most will get in on the action around the county. The wind is so crazy though its just blowing around...
-
Snowing moderately here in town. The wind is insane currently.

If you want significant snow each winter you need to move. In the SE outside the mountains it is a shot in the dark and there is much more than 8 people in our thread. Don't be salty.
-
Moderate snow with a temp of 25.
-
Yep I can see town from the house. They actually do well with this setup.
-
You may get in on the action this evening and overnight.
-
You can tell the mid levels are really becoming saturated this morning. The ceiling is lowering and the snow is starting to really pick up.
-
Yeah steady snow now. Better flake size and down to 27 degrees. Deck and grass are becoming covered now.
-
Light snow with a temp of 28 degrees.
-
We warmed up big time here. Full sun today with a high of 51 degrees. We have fallen back to 35 currently.

I think the forcing and the trajectory is what is driving the outlook. You can even see the best accumulations will be right at Haywood, Swain, and Graham county. Personally I think Haywood is in the best position. Places like Crabtree, Fines Creek, and Max Patch are going to get waxed. Others will get snow but I think the huge totals will be in around this area.

Shoot yeah!
-
Really all the boarder counties look good. Also we are going to be plenty cold throughout so no worries about that.
-
We are going to get better forcing down here but I'd say 6 to 12 plus for you. We are in the prime for this setup.

Lol you kind of got piled on there but of course there has been frustration and probably will continue to be. But this is probably the best scenario we have seen all winter.
-
This is definitely different. I actually think we are a shoe in for an arctic outbreak. The GFS has had this outbreak for several days now inside 10 days. We are about 6 to 7 days out now....
-
Im locked and loaded now. Going to be one heck of an upslope event taking place then maybe multiple chances for snow and then an arctic outbreak...
-
Thats the spirit! Glad you finally got some good snow yesterday.
-
Yep
-
Still way early to depend on a storm at this range but I fully believe we get an arctic outbreak.
-
Yep I noticed that also. Boy if we have snow on the ground with that arctic outbreak....
-
The euro is finally fully on board and drops the coldest air we have probably seen in some 3 or 4 years...
