    Had a low of 30 this morning and a high of 55. A huge change from a couple days ago.

    Euro and GFS have some subtle changes in the pattern with different time frames. Interesting to see these two not agree even a few days out. This usually means a big change in the pattern.

    The 6z is even wetter from the subtropical lows moisture. That would be awesome even if we get half that.

    I will say the overnight models are showing lot's of beneficial rainfall for us the next 4 to 5 days.

    Yeah I'd like to see a lot of rainfall from the tropical system. We need it and would clamp down on the fire danger. We are going to get cold for sure. The coldest weather of the season but the second push and the little system from the gulf is questionable. The EURO now wants to hold back the energy out west and pump up the SER. The 18z gfs want to have back to back pushes of cold with wintery precipitation in here. It's a bit early in the season but we'll see how things evolve.

    Yeah this weather is crap here... Luckily changes on the way for tomorrow night and especially into the weekend. Yeah the mountain west out there are getting hammered with feet of snow. Good for them.

    Thanks Jeff for this. Great analysis as always. I do think we may actually see more of a pronounced pattern change in December but this is a warning shot. I could be wrong though...

    Yeah hopefully this year will be different. We have seen cold weather and snow already here so we can have good patterns for several weeks. I think we will see something nice for December.

    Yeah me too. At least freaking feel like the holidays for a change. Seems like the last several holidays it's been spring like.

    High temp of 70 today and humid. Not a great day in my opinion. We are seeing some slight changes in the pattern around hour 144 on the GEFS. This may bring some snow or may not but we should at least cool down to normal. Im still looking at December for something more significant.

    Yeah you can see on the extended model run that the SER is bouncing the fronts to the north already with a shit PAC....

    I have been looking at the gfs ensembles and they are saying pattern change mid month. The euro Weeklies are kind of hinting at this as well but I'd say if we do see a significant pattern change it will be the first of December.

    Ill say the mountain west is going to get hammered with snow the next week or so. I bet some places will see over 100 inches from this pattern setup.

    Yeah hit the snooze button for the next week or two for sure.

    Yeah a surprising 30 degrees this morning with heavy frost. Looks like the next few weeks we see a relaxation in the pattern and all the cold air will be locked up in Canada. The NAO will be positive but just slightly and the PNA will be negative but not on roids so we may be above average for November but I think not much has to happen to have December in play for cold and snow.

    I honestly think it's because im kind of in a hollar with that elevation. The microclimate here in Haywood is absolutely fascinating.

    Funny thing is I got .3" here with everything soaked from the road to the lawn but then Ace only got a trace. Crazy how big microclimate plays around here.
