  1. At least it looks like winter. Savor it while you can.
  2. Solid inch down here. Let’s call it a win. Got the big broom out and swept the snow off the walkway.
  3. Never, but I am temporarily satisfied. Still disappointed to awake to the thin coating we got here.
  4. Glad to come home to see some snow partial snow cover, as well the lake still partly covered in ice. A shot from bc. Good snow out there.
  5. Are you looking for bald eagles? my wife and I kayak/paddle board on the croton river and this past summer there were some flying around there. To my untrained eye, there was an adult and two young ones which appeared to mature as the summer progressed.
  6. Good luck fellas. I’m out in bc for the week so this storm should crank.
  7. Same is true up north in vt. Southern areas do better on the big synoptic coastal storms, but the northern areas get to 250-350” average from the small frequent snowfalls.
  8. Whistler is on the coast, whereas the other areas in bc are inland. Much less chance of getting rained on and the snow in general is lighter.
  9. I’d add whitewater to that list. No tourists and Nelson is a great city. 3 hour drive from Spokane.
  10. Yeah, I suspect my lake will thaw and not refreeze again this winter.
  11. Also, having the right gear. I donned the flannel lined pants, flannel shirt and vest today. No problems. I’ve probably skied 5 days this season where the wind chills were colder than today so mentally it’s no big thing.
  12. Left the Bronx at 3:30 at 32f. Snow started shortly thereafter. A good 10 minutes of whiteout on the sprain. In croton a little before 5 and 17f.
  13. From the other side of the gradient, .4” in the can
  14. My goose is cooked here. 36f. Nothing but rain.
  15. My lake is totally frozen. Beautiful out. 17f.
  16. fwiw-3.31" in the can for the month to date.
  17. check the zipper on your trousers! I kid, I skied a run yesterday after taking a tinkle in the woods and neglected to zip up my ski pants. it was quite chilly.
