Sounds like they want the qualification done by tomorrow because the rest of the metrics will likely be met in the next few days. The only metric left unsatisfied is the 14 day decline in deaths/deaths of 5 or less on 3 day rolling average. As of yesterday the latter was 7. We get to 5 and we’re ready for phase one. they want 330 tracers but how many of the tracers are actually going to be used is a different story. let’s hope the 330 are needed as a worse case scenario and they don’t actually ended up needing that many. FWIW-I drove back from sterling forest today through Harriman and they have a huge testing facility set up in one of the giant parking lots. btw-new mtn bike trails at sterling forest are really nice.

I think the contact tracers are mostly already employees, in other capacities, of the county health departments, supplemented by home health aides/visiting nurses. So they are already here, just waiting to be activated. That won’t be an issue once the other metrics are met.

The river walkway was extended south from the train station several years ago. It’s really nice. By the train station, there’s a taco place, peekskill brewery and an ice cream shop, so pretty well appointed for a summer evening. The brewery has a large outdoor area which should prove handy when the lockdown is lifted. Looking like mid hudson satisfies all the metrics shortly.

Really feel like we’ve turned a corner. Beautiful out today.

Planting tomorrow. i realized the other day when I posted about the dam, that I didnt have any pictures, so I went out and took some. Tough to see with all the overgrowth though.

Either way, rebuilding a dam, is no small project. We have an old dam, revolutionary war era, that’s breached on the property. It’s big, 20’ high, 6’ wide. It was the iron furnace that everything around here is named for, furnace brook, furnace brook lake, furnace dock rd, furnace woods rd... apparently it was a big in the 1750s. We had a tropical storm (blanking on the name) about 15 years ago that dropped like 9” rain and ripped a huge section off the dam.

Didn’t see any snow but there is a ice on my deck. Up to 37f now from 33f at 7:30. It is blowing like crazy.

Just started a fire. Never too late to root for snow And besides, it’s not like the alternative is 75/sunny. It’s going to be gross out anyway, so i’d certainly rather see some mangled flakes than the cold rain.

Got soaked here. My rain gauge is on the fritz again but looks like about 2 inches total. Brook is up to its banks.

Warmish, not really warm. I feel like this is how it’s been for the last few years. Miserable through May and into June.

Well, saturday was nice. Tomorrow should be ok. Spring is the worst season.

I hate the moles. I’d like to think I killed them when I put moletox in their tunnels but more likely it was the feral cat hanging around. He took care of the chipmunks, that’s for sure. I have my tomatoes planted in a protected, fenced into the ground, garden and that seems to have worked. But the blueberry bushes I planted get raided by the birds who eat what little fruit they produce. had some good weather yesterday. Some boomers and a little hail. Lost power for 4 hours. Interesting at least. Can’t believe I’m still running the wood burning stove.

Agreed. My in laws live in Southfield just over the border from canaan ct so I’ve spent plenty of time in the area. Under appreciated. miserable 39f and drizzling. This has got to be rock bottom. Bring on the heat already.

Sure but not today. Where you thinking? I heard there are new trails near Kingston called jockey hill.

It’s funny, because I live not far from there, and I know they done extensive work on that whole network, but I’ve never been. Might be time to try. I’m riding blue tomorrow. Gonna be chilly.

I caught two graupel showers. First in the Bronx, then up in Yorktown where i got pelted with strong winds. Felt great.

Came down pretty good here until a few minutes ago. Welcome, if just to break the monotony. hope you’re are all doing well. I think, I hope, we are seeing the end of the beginning. I got notification from amazon that a tp delivery is on its way. So that’s a good sign. Could really use some weather to look forward to, but ya know what they, when it rains it pours.

Good to hear. I have much work to do to clean up the yard but looks like there’ll be plenty of time for that. Right now, I’m focusing on the important stuff, like catching up on some Netflix programming.

34f here with light snow. Had some legit large flakes about an hour ago. There was a dusting but now it’s mostly melted.
