Picked up almost a half inch this afternoon. thankful for the cooler temps as the air conditioners in my bedroom and den went kaput. Probably a week before the part comes in to fix the bedroom. Drier conditions would be most welcome. i got another couple weeks of summer in me before yearning for fall.

I was in guilford ct the last few days, right on the sound, and noticed the same phenomena.

Pretty sure you’ll be able to get plenty of beer in vt, brew fest or not. Debauchery I can’t speak to.

The summer weather in nne, imho, is far superior to our latitude. That 10 degrees cooler, if that, makes all the difference. Seems when we are experiencing nighttime minimums in the upper 60’s, for weeks on end, they’re in the 50’s which is refreshing and revitalizing.

I bet this Is a reprieve for a few weeks and summer comes back with a vengeance in September.

power came on overnight. drying out and cooling off.

About 5pm got a coned text saying power won’t be back until Tuesday night. Final straw. Looked for hotels online. Tried to talk wife into going to Kingston but She was balking. Went to get ice cream on peekskill waterfront and noticed the holiday inn express had surprisingly few cars in the lot. Inquired inside and their cable/phones r down so can’t take online reservations but they have rooms. Showered and cranking the ac. It’s the humidity that makes it unbearable. This morning the humidity inside the house was up to 84%. That’s ridiculous.

Just got text from coned that my power should be back by...wait for it.... Sunday night. Great. They really suck.

Yesterday I was really hopeful the power would be back some time today. Now I’m hopeless. No sign of coned and trees were cleared yesterday. We must be down the list somewhere which is odd because it’s a fairly big line. a buddy has a generator I could use but all I really want is a hot shower and there’s no way to do that. Also, would love a cool crisp night but that ain’t happening either. Humidity inside the house is 66%. Yuck. I did go to my office and downloaded more Netflix. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

Got the chain saw out to cut down tree at my neighbors that was hung up on their power line. No update from coned as to when to expect power. Thinking at least 3-4 days if we’re lucky, depending on the break. cell service is slow presumably because everyone is using it. But at least it’s working. i have town water so was able to take a shower. And the supermarket has power so I got ice this morning. got a little additional rain last night that put it over an inch for storm total.

Ha ha ha. I’m having the best tomato harvest I’ve ever had this year.

Power out since 4:30. No damage on my property but the area was raked. Trees down everywhere. And I don’t hear any chain sawing which means coned won’t even start working to restore power any time soon. i do have cell service. cars are filled with gas and I have propane for the grill with a side burner. Also, have battery powered motion sensor led light bars for Closets which I moved into the living areas. And I had downloaded some Netflix onto the iPad. Looks like we’ll be grilling some stuff from the freezer.

Just under an inch here. power went out around 4:30. Within about a half mile of the house, I saw 4 trees down on power lines. Have a bad feeling this is going to be an extended outage.

Holy cow. It’s crazy town out here.

Up over a half inch now. Had a pretty good gust that I’m pretty sure took down the good part of a large tree in the woods behind my backyard.

Back from riding blue mtn. Firm but not dry. of course I kicked off august by overheating for the first Time this season. Dews were forecast to be in the 60’s but it’s 82/72 here. I didn’t overdo it but I’m definitely feeling it. Still sweating after showering. After lunch I’m doing my once a summer trip up on the roof to clean some windows and make sure the gutters are clear.

85/75 at 10pm. Nothing to celebrate there. It’s summer. Dog days incoming.
