  1. Mountain in a cloud of snow all day. Super light, didn’t accumulate much if at all. To say Conditions are great is an understatement.
  2. Right? Maybe they’re not accustomed to it getting that cold? The windchills are only in the minus 20s.
  3. You might be right. I get confused because they often don’t report on what they get in the afternoon update to the snow report and then add it back into the 24 hour total. But there’s definitely a dusting on my car since 7pm last night. also, fwiw, I’d been booked to go out to bc this week which obviously couldn’t happen because of the covid but whitewater closed today due to extreme cold although it’s only minus 5f.
  4. What’s remarkable is that we haven’t had a thaw since the grinch Xmas day. When was the last time that’s happened? light snow here. Dusting at the house. Mountain reporting 3” overnight.
  5. Yup, we had like 8” overnight into this morning.
  6. And another inch when I got home for a total of about 4. Pack is looking solid.
  7. Snow growth here has been horrible. Tiniest grains of sand.
  8. 2” otg and it is dumping, moderately. Roads are slippery.
  9. Moderate snow in croton. Intensity picked up in the last 5 minutes. 29/25.
  10. Light snow commenced about 15 minutes ago. Intensity picking up now.
  11. I’m looking forward to a few hours of snow, accumulations be damned. Nice refresher. This is what winter should look like.
  12. 24f here with light snow. 4” otg. really burning me i missed the event back in ny. Probably around 2 feet there. I’ll feel better about it once I get on the skis.
  13. Good luck fellas. Keep the obs coming. I picked the wrong horse and am up in vt. Wife promised to measure the snow on the deck, although I figured asking for 6 hour intervals is a bridge too far.
  14. Up to 3f here. Seems like a good day to check out Brandon gap trails.
  15. Left the Bronx at 5 with wet roads and 32f. The sprain was wet throughout. The taconic started to get snow on the shoulders and on the roadway by the croton reservoir bridge. 29f when I got off the highway. The secondary roads had some snow on the sides while the tertiary roadways were covered mostly.
  16. I don’t doubt that they get light dry powder, just not as often as the interior mountains. I’d love to ski there, don’t get me wrong, but if I’m looking to maximize my chances of skiing fresh dry powder, I think the numbers favor lcc, Jackson hole, Montana and interior bc.
