I was out and about yesterday around noon and the roads were horrific. Then I took a nap before heading upstate on the taconic around 4. Roads were clear albeit wet. Thinking it takes time for the plows/sanders to treat the network. for all the handwringing on the main thread, this winter is actually shaping up to be pretty solid. Cold and other than the 2 thaws, a snowpack from thanksgiving to date. And this will last at least into February. Would I like a Ku, sure, but this is just fine in my book.

Snowing good here. Was out before noon and the local roads were a mess. Measured 2” an hour ago. It’s got some density to it too.

Not much left here. Patches in the shade. Lake is still mostly frozen. It was an impressive run.

Just had a brief pelting. Not sure if it was hail or otherwise but maybe millimeter in size

2/16-17 2003 I'm in Croton-on-Hudson and while I wasn't measuring at the time, there was definitely about 3 feet at my house.

Thank you so much. For a long time I had been trying to figure out when it was that I had about a 3 footer and thanks to your work I was able to figure it out even though the map for the event only shows 2 feet.

Can’t say I’m disappointed for a change as I’m at 35k feet with another 4.5 hours before touchdown at jfk. House is gonna be pretty chilly when we get in but I wisely laid a fire before we left. I do love me some snow but the wife would be having a meltdown if we had to land into it and then drive home through it.

Supposed to land jfk at 4pm Tuesday. Hoping I drive home to some white but not too much.
