  1. Yeah, I was out again saturday and it looks wet to me. I don't get how we're still in D1.
  2. I rode this weekend at blue mtn in Peekskill and it does not appear dry. Streams flowing healthily, wetlands filled. Definitely didn’t look like d1 drought conditions.
  3. 1.14” in the hopper. Healthy dose.
  4. Got down to 17f here in the tropics
  5. When I went out measure this morning it was compressed 4+ inches. this has been an old school winter. Luving it all except for the heat bill
  6. Coming down pretty. Nice refresher
  7. That includes this morning. Gotta say, I am enjoying this old school winter even though there havent been any big storms.
  8. I got a solid inch plus. Very nice.
  9. Lot of it going around. No thank you.
  10. 8F for the low, 12F now. I have a heat pump which is much happier when temps are above 20f.
  11. I do not check ratios but I did just clean off the cars and shovel and the snow was light.
  12. Just shy of 6”. Very nice. Good night.
  13. 3” here. just took my drive. Roads are definitely slippery. Like that schmutz underneath. Beautiful out. Legit snowstorm conditions.
  14. Love driving in the snow. Good tires ftw
  15. I had that kind of day yesterday. I was under the impressiom that Sunday was going to be a big ‘nothing burger at best but found myself running pre storm errands this morning. Filled up the truck, stocked up on windshield washer fluid and bought a new humidifier (with the stove going continuously for 2 weeks the indoor humidity was down to 25%. No bueno.). And made a pot of chili. When I finally had a chance to look, things seemed to be breaking our way. Still have to reload the wood pile but I’m really looking forward to this weekend.
  16. giving the wood burning stove the night off. Its definitely going to be needed continuously next week. Liking the outlook. dont want to count any chickens, but snow on sunday of a holiday weekend followed by cold has a nice ring to it.
  17. I think from a marketing perspective the slide brook lift has some significant value. For actual skiing, it’s of little use. That being said, in the deal with the forest service to install the lift, they agreed not to put trails/lifts in slide brook and that has preserved it as a great sidecountry tree skiing area. pf-in addition to the operational challenges you mentioned, the lift traverses some valleys so there are spots where the chairs are really high off the ground making any evacuation a nightmare. It’s also 2 miles long. Some years ago they stopped running the lift if temps are below 5f, now 10f. Many complain about that, but imho, that is wise. I’ve been stuck up there in the cold and while it was only 10 minutes or so, it felt like eternity. If there is a problem on an extremely cold day it would be a dangerous situation.
