  1. Would be pretty cool to have a Zoom room from like 9- midnight within a couple days of a big threat as the models roll in
  2. A zoom meeting would be great for model analysis or discussions in the days leading up to big storms this winter
  3. Yes....my wife's parents live in Nova Scotia (Cape Breton). She hasn't seen them since last Thanksgiving. Her dad had triple bypass in June and she hasn't been able to go up there. Sucks
  4. Yeah, 2 areas on either side of Raynham with downed lines causing fires. Times like this I'm glad we have a small municipal power company. They'll get us up and running quickly. It'll be one of those nights where you're woken up at 2:00 with every light in the house on.
  5. Welp, this scene is about 2 miles from my house. No power and looks to stay that way for a while. Generator is humming and we will be ok
  6. 67/54 Sun is in and out of clouds. Beautiful day for working outside. After digging a trench this morning can confirm that you wouldn't know we received .4"of rain two days ago. Ground is 100% dry
  7. Wow, 73/70 at midnight on Sept 30 here in the SE MA dust bowl.
  8. Man...it's pouring here. TAN dome in full effect
  9. Well, it's finally raining here in TBlizz land! It's very exciting. 74/68...steamy
  10. Cranky swore that Laura was maxing out as a Cat 2 and would weaken before landfall. He's The Onion of Twitter weather
  11. same here. Bees/yellow jackets have taken over the feeders
  12. I was a freshman at U. Of Miami when Andrew hit. I believe the highest wind recorded at the old NHC building across the street from campus was 142 before their equipment got blown off the roof. Spent the storm on the second floor of one of the towers. The roar of the wind was ridiculous and it was pushing water into the hallways through the storm doors.
  13. There's a WU station 1.5 miles from my house, TAN is 5 miles away. It's been an incredibly hot summer for SEMA since the end of June/start of July....Top 5 at worst. I don't know what else to tell you
  14. No not at all. The cement is all sloped away from the pool (very slightly)
  15. We did our pool 3 years ago. So happy with it, especially this summer. Bob designed the farmers porch, which we did at the same time. Wouldn't change a thing. We use the porch is like a another family/dining room in spring/summer/fall. It's not just pools that are impossible to find....I've wired many hot tubs since Covid hit and have a couple more scheduled Hot tubs and pools are nearly impossible to find right now
  16. Yeah would have been nice to get more but it was something. It was just good to have a couple days without blazing sun and 90s.
  17. Wind is crazy here right now just ahead of that line. Lost power about 20 minutes ago which is very unusual for my neighborhood. Got the generator going but it doesn't power the central AC. I doubt they're sending crews out anytime soon to pull branches off power lines.
  18. Nice storm just rolled thru here. decent thunder, about .2" in 10 minutes. Sunny and steamy again
  19. My wife's parents live in Nova Scotia. Her Dad is having open heart surgery next week (had a heart attack a few days ago). She can't travel there to stay with her mom or visit him in the hospital. If the worst happened, we couldn't go to any services. It sucks, but I don't blame them for not wanting anyone from the US to come.
  20. It's the magic of Christmas Bob...Jeez
